We always talk about the industry being
star-driven and how films with stars get
much more mileage. There is a reason for
that. Every year, they are the only ones who
promise big gains no matter what. Not only
in India, but from overseas as well. In fact,
China has turned into a huge market for
Aamir Khan films, so much so, that the
screening of Dangal at the Beijing
International Film Festival was houseful. But
what is even more amusing is that the actor
himself couldn't get his hands on the tickets

No no, we aren't exaggerating. Koimoi has
reported that the screening of Dangal
or Shuaijiao Baba got an overwhelming
response at the 7th Beijing International
Film Festival. They loved it so much that
Dangal got a standing ovation. Tickets were
sold out and thus the actor couldn't get
some for his guests. Do remember it's just a
festival screening and not a theatrical
release which will happen on May 6. You can
now imagine how much people loved the
film there. Aamir film's right from 3 Idiots, to
P.K. have done raging business at the box
office. The latter has earned over Rs 100
crore in the Chinese market alone. And now
Dangal has won over the festival crowd.
Another Rs 100 crore film probably for
Aamir?
The actor had met filmmaker Rob Cohen of
the Fast and Furious fame. The screening
was attended by Chinese actress Liu Yifei
and actor Wu Gang. The actor along with the
director of the film Nitesh Tiwari will
promote the film in Shanghai and Chengdu.
Aamir doesn't have a release this year which
he is top-lining. But there is a film that will
release on Diwali which is his production
venture. The film is called Secret Superstar
and will also have his extended cameo.
