A lot of good actress quit BW coz they can't deal with casting couch and sleeze .
I wish they talk openly about these things . Nepotism is lesser devil in BW.

She got married almost immediately after Swades. I don't think she was interested in a career in the movies and Swades happened by chance. That or her husband & his family were against her doing films so she quit.

Whatever it is, it was a pity because she was great in Swades..stunningly beautiful also.

Gayatri Joshi was a good actor, she acted well with SRK, but she wasn't memorable, not much about her grabbed her attention. She doesn't have much screen presence either which is a very important ingredient to have for every actor. Now she's married to the Oberoi scion & is a prominent socialite so I guess her life worked out. Just that I can't imagine not working at all to have control over my life & own finances. But whatever, guess it works for her.

She had very subtle chemistry, esp in the lungi tying scene! But she doesn't have much screen presence.

Ya her husband is from the Oberoi family & a powerful industrialist/builder in his own right. She wasn't interested in doing films either. Now she's a pretty known socialite, and good friends with Twinkle & Sonali.
