Let's not compare them to older generation popular jodis (Raj-Nargis, Amitabh-Rekha, SRK-Kajol) and say how great earlier pairs were.

Every generation have their own favourites. In the current generation, most popular ones are these two. Let's forget about their off screen relations, promos before movies etc.

On screen, who is your favourite?

To me, Varun-Alia looks cute, but Ranbir-Deepika's chemistry looks more passionate. Though their promotion puts me off, I like their chemistry on screen. (Though I wrote male's name first, I don't consider male's contribution is more than female. You can take it as Alia-Varun and Deepika-Ranbir).

I don't have any favourite pairs as such, but as far as popularity is concerned, I think Varun-Alia are currently the most sought after pairing for films.

ehh, i like all pairings ...Varun-Alia is in many ways more popular than Bir-Pika.

Varun Alia may win popularity now as people have forgotten Ranbir with Deepika and maybe pictures Ranveer with her

OMG this is tough😆

I don't like Ranbir that much but RanDeep were magic in YJHD. Like so freaking magical! YJHD remains one of my most fav films.

But Varun Alia are no less. BKD was amazing. They made me smile, cry, hate, jump, laugh, and emotional at the same time. Not to forget they look great together.

In terms of chemistry, they are on same level. But I will vote for Varun Alia because Varun is my favorite.

DeepVeer Vs Varia comparison would have been apt.So many real life shippers and 2 big hits😆

I cant stand either pairings.Tried hard to like them in BM and BKD respectively but nayy just cant see the charm.Just like how I never could warm up to Salman-Karisma(loved Sal-Aish/Sonali/Rani/PZ),
I cant connect to Varia.Maybe the fact that I dislike RS/Alia while I adore DP & like Varun deters me😆.Dont think I would be able to fangirl on most popular pairings of this gen unlike SRK-Kajol

RK-DP I thought was too overhyped during BAH and disliked their real life rumours..DP looked smitten while RK was detached.And then his fawning over Kat in some Ivs🤢.I hate it when guys dont acknowledge their real life partners talent or value their character/beauty instead placates the ego of other damzels for publicity.Was happy when they broke up.But then came YJHD and I absolutely fell in love with Bunny-Naina..Their story was cliched with a shallow premise yet what a connect~ !! Tamasha might be a flop but it was worth watching for me due to utterly uninhibited performances of RK-DP and their chemistry..I dont care how annoying they are offscreen,how much majority diss them,as a pair onscreen they are convincing for me

Earlier, fans of one used to like the other one too. (Like lot of SRK fans are Kajol's fans as well). But current fans are different. They look at the other half of the pair as a competitor and pit one against the other. Alia versus Varun's success ratio, Ranbir's hits versus Deepika's hits. Thus we can't enjoy them as pair. (Specially Deepika and Ranbir's fans. They hate the other so passionately 😆). In spite of all this, one cannot take away the fact that they have great chemistry on screen. (If only, we don't have to see them doing promotion together).
