didn't know about this incident which will be part of the movie..the seemingly unbelievable story of dutt arriving at an Independence Day celebration in Chicago and the crowds turning away from the then city mayor, Barack Obama, to rush towards him with shouts of "Munna Bhai..." The incident was chronicled in the Chicago Tribune.

Thats exactly the same thing that came to mind after watching Hacksaw Ridge. Instead of making movies on inspiring people, Bwood will make on goons and controversial people like Dutt etc. 😵

his only fault was he had banned weapon taken from banned organizations...

Barrack Obama was never Chigaco Mayor... He was Illinois state Senator from 1997 to 2004

and then U.S. Senator from 2005 to 2008, then U.S. president... He never held any other position

About the validity of the story, if it's Indian Independence Day celebration, then the crowd must be Indian so it could've happened... But take it with a pinch of salt

😆 for sure I will..believe me I have seen crowds here go crazy for just about anyone closely related to bollywood/TV..

you are absolutely correct about Obama being the senator..I think the mayor was there too so they mixed up😕😆

Biopics are not based on what people have contributed to the world. It's based on who had a more interesting life, to be told on screen. Sanjay Dutt's life is full of controversies with ups and downs in his career and personal life. His story has enough masala to make a Bollywood movie on it. The story of Azhar is much more interesting to watch onscreen, because of his controversial life than Dhoni and Sachin, though the latter two have contributed much more to the country.

Now if a biopic is made on Mother Teresa and Salman Khan, then people will interested in watching which movie more? ??

We hear this defense all the time "Sanjay Dutt was young and foolish, he acted without thinking, he is not a criminal and certainly not a terrorist", his supporters claim...

He was 34 when this happened, not a kid

His star power and political connections helped him otherwise he would've been convicted under TADA(Terrorist and Disruptive Activities ) Act...

Ironically those who got the weapon to Dutt's house and helped him store it were booked under TADA, their jail sentences were longer, but Sanjay escaped that stigma 😕

He said he bought those weapons for self- defense... Really?

He was arrested for acquiring three AK-56s rifles, nine magazines, 450 cartridges and over 20 hand grenades. This despite the fact he already possessed 3 licensed weapons

Have you ever heard anyone buying so many weapons and ammunition ( Hand grenades? Really? ) for self defence?

Sanjay Dutt also admitted to being directly in touch with Anees Ibrahim, the main conspirator Dawood Ibrahim's younger brother.

And CBI did not challenge the TADA court's decision which relieved Dutt of charges under TADA, in the Supreme Court.
