So Kjo and Kangana have started this huge debate about Nepotism and everyone has different views. But is Nepotism really that prevalent in Bollywood ?I don't think so.

For me Nepotism means some one who isn't talented or hard working yet gets the job because of favor of some relatives or friends.

Now if we look at this objectively are there any untalented star kids who are getting offers again and again and are doing well because of it.No i don't think so.

Top actresses of today of Deepika ,Anushka ,Priyanka,Kangana,Alia may be even Vidaya and Sonam.Out of these 7, 5 are outsiders not star kids only Sonam and Alia are.Sonam doesn't get that many offers we know that .So that only leaves Alia who is a star kid and gets lots of offers but she is genuinely talented and hard working as well.

Now for actors lets leave the Khans aside they are a different league.Top actors would be Ranbir, Ranveer, Akshay,Hrtihik not sure if i am missing any one. Then there are new actors who are doing well like SSR and Varun. Now Ranbir ,Hrithink and Varun who are the star kids who are doing well are they not talented or hardworking?I think they are hence they are successful.

So for me at the end what matters is hardwork and talent. If you have these two whether you are an outsider or insider doesn't matter you will be successful..Most of untalented star kids reach no where like Abhishek ,Fardeen,Twinkle,Esha etc. Those who have been successful are talented and hardworking.

So i am trying to understand are there any star kids who are not talented and hardworking and keep on getting offers again and again?I don't think so.Talent and hard work is what really matters even in Bollywood.

To some extent it is but is currently hot topic and blown out of proportion. You need talent as well and cannot survive only due to nepotism. Else Abhishek would have been a superstar now. They get some chance surely but without talent soon become goner like Abhishek, Imran khan etc.

If there was no nepotism these people would never exist in the Industry. Bollywood would have been an industry with superlative talent instead of mediocre. It's like reservation, where undeserved people take up the limited seats and those who really deserve and work hard for it doesn't get a chance. Bottom-line, it's unfair.

But more than stars its the writers, directors and editors who are responsible for poor film making in bollywood.

In a perfect industry that was only full of superlative talented 'outsiders' who struggled & are now living the King life..they will give birth to off-spring(s) that will want that same lifestyle for themselves. And, because parents want the best for their kids, they won't want them to struggle & will pull strings to get directors to produce & direct their children. Before anything else, the directors will do it just as gratitude for the 'outsider' stars having made their films successful and made the directors career. And, that's how nepotism is born.

There's no avoiding this unless the mindset of parents wanting the best for their children doesn't change. And regardless of whether that parent initially slept on the footpath or on a bed made outta gold, that mindset in India will never change.

And that will only happen when, for instance, an outsider like SRK tells Aryan "You got a degree. You wanna earn money? Go find a job"

I'm bored of hearing about Nepotism as this exists even outside the industry. No use of pointing fingers only at Karan Johar and KJo is also acting weird since ADHM and adding fuel to fire.

I would like to hear about casting couch which is a harsh reality in Bollywood but nobody dares to speak against that.

And when Aryan goes out to find a job, there will be 100s of people lining up to give him job so that they can get something out of his influential dad !!

Yes, it is a bigger issue and no one will ever talk about it !!

We would never know how much money did parents of star kids put in their debut. I find it hard to believe that they are launched without financial backing of their parents.

Nepotism isn't when star kids flop and disappear. Nepotism is when they are allowed to cross doors of bollywood without any credentials. It seems like KJo many need to run to the dictionary to understand what it means.😊

Just because it exists elsewhere too doesn't make it right. And nothing wrong to speak against something that isn't right. If there is nepotism outside, speak up against it like Kangana is doing. Nepotism of any kind isn't right even if it exists universally.

My friend who used to work for Mid Day said that most star kids pay more than the budget of the movie. Ranveer had paid 10 crores for his launch and similarly other kids too pay. I guess Big B wasn't ready to pay for his son's launch is what I heard.
