As we all know, Padmavati is an important movie.

It is important for Ranveer post Befikre, for Deepika because its her first BW movie in 2 years, for Shahid after Rangoon (which looks poised to flop), for Viacom too after Rangoon.

A lot is riding on this film! And it appears to have a sky-high budget too.

Do you think it will live up to all these expectations? Will it be a super hit or blockbuster? Will it end up being a hit? Or will it flop? 😲

I know its quite early as almost nothing is known about the movie except for the great cast and director. So I'm just asking as a hunch or intuition, what do you think will be its fate?

It will do well but not well enough to be a profitable venture. It had a better chance if it had clashed with ETT2. Then like Dilwale vs BM times they could have easily projected Padmavati as a classic against crap ETT2. Now Dutt will follow that strategy if they have learnt anything.

My money is on it being a Flop. 😲

There is no way this movie is recuperating its 180 crore budget and that too in November. Even if it is a "masterpiece" similar to BM, it'll still hardly manage to break even.

Tired of period films. SLB is repetitive.

Can't say it will be a hit or flop. BUT I have a feeling it will be crap like BM was. It sucked because I imagined the story to be different and, in the end it was so disappointing. 😭👎🏼

If really the budget is indeed that high, hope SLB has worked on his screenplay..., else this seems like it will flop.

The performances by the leads will be fine under his direction but everything else would depend on writing. The actors are coming after big flops and the actress after a huge gap.

Hate to see all the hardwork go down the drain when writing is bad!

Sad for Shahid, he was really good in Rangoon and the movie is decent too. Padmavati needs to be a big hit so that he comes back to the A-list 😭 The controversies and interesting casting would attract good numbers on the opening weekend, but after that depends on Bhansali.
