Sonam and DP

Sonam and DP''s case fascinate me and remind me of power of fate.

Both started out at same time. Both were launched with big production house and good directors. Both had superstar as their co-star - Salman and SRK. But only won reached no. 1 position. Co-incidentally it was DP whose OSO won the clash.

Now these two share remarkable similarity. They both have Indian classical face, lovely smile and nice tall willowy figure. Both have left feet in spite of learning classical dance. And on screen, they are both pleasing to eyes.

Is their case simply of wrong debut for one and right for another? Do you think if Sonam (insider)had been launched through OSO she could reached no.1 position. Do you think DP (outsider) would have been able to dust the ashes of Sawariya and emerge a winner at the end. 😃

Sonam lacks the star quality and mass/sex appeal big time.

Please don't insult deepika by making this topic, sonam could not succeed 10% of what DP had succeeded, she is another useless star kid with no talent, screen presence or beauty, people would not give her supporting role if she were not anil kapoor's daughter.

Sonam is prettier but a worse actress, worse dancer & is no where near as ambitious. Also she's the type of pretty that actually curbs her sex appeal. (Like Keira Knightley)

I would choose Sonam over DP anyday as a person..but DP is hardworking and ambitious and she diligently works towards what she wants to achieve..

Sonam was launched with flop star Ranbir so she became a flop actor just like him.

DP was launched with the then super star SRK and both were hit but see now SRK is going down and looks like he is pulling DP down as well.

Some how I feel Sonam could have made far if she had done the kind of acting she did in Neerja in the first few movies itself. That could have established her as a strong performer and that itself could have made her do better than Deepika cos that time Deepika was just so bad as an actress. But then again star appeal and screen presence is something natural and I guess that's the only reason DP went ahead. Not being ambitious as Deepika is not a valid reason to me because Sonam did try to take her career course in a different way with fashion tag and make herself visible and relevant. And let's not forget that Sonam is a star kid but it's not like she is being mercilessly compared to her father and being put down like what AB Jr been put through. Deepika worked very hard to be where she is and she deserves it.

Deepika has more ambition than Sonam.
