Raees has had a good extended first weekend with collections of 92.25 crore nett. The film is ahead of Kaabil by a big margin but it is still about the Monday though as collections picked up well on Saturday amd Sunday after the big drop in Friday, it was not a huge up turn so hard to tell where Monday is going to land up. The film has done well in Mumbai, South and East India while Central markets are pretty good but North is just average. The Monday business should be pretty steady compared to its Friday but what is more important is what level it is at as the Friday of Raees was its worst day. The first five day business of Raees is as follows.

Wednesday - 20,25,00,000

Thursday - 26,25,00,000

Friday - 13,00,00,000

Saturday - 15,50,00,000

Sunday = 17,25,00,000

TOTAL - 92,25,00,000

The big clash has turned out to be a one horse race in terms of Worldwide box office as Raees has grossed more than double of Kaabil across the World. Raaes is looking at 185 crore worldwide GROSS box office in five days while Kaabil is looking at around 90 crore. The race is probably over in five days as its unlikely that Kaabil can reach the Raees five day total weekend in its lifetime. The Overseas lead for Raees is expected due to the Shahrukh Khan factor though the film has put up very good numbers in Gulf, US / Canada and Australia for a this type of action film based in Gujarat. The film was around $3.5m in Gulf and $2.25 million in US /Canada. If we take the normal weekend of Thu-Sun then it is the third highest opener ever in Gulf after Sultan and Dilwale. Kaabil is decent only in Gulf with $1.2 million apprx and its Overseas figures should come in around $2.5m. Raees will be around $8.5m.

Its the India figures which should have been closer because the gap is a huge 50 crore plus in terms of GROSS box office and that is why Raees has double the figures of Kaabil. The Overseas lead was always going to be there so to be 50 crore behind in India leaves the film with no chance of being close. .A five day weekend means 100 crore GROSS Worldwide box office is must for a Hrithik Roshan starrer even if there is a clash. Krrish 3 a few years back did 90 crore Worldwide in just three days. Jai Ho which was an under performer managed 100 crore in three days and was released in the same week. Agneepath also released in the same week managed 78 crore in just three days.
