Hrithik, Sonam, Ranbir, Shah Rukh, Salman: Our New Year resolutions for B-Town actors
Whether they have one or more of their own or not, here's what we'd like to suggest them for their own good! If they follow through, it will hold them in good stead
Each year as we usher in to the New Year, the obvious mandatory question pops up " What's your resolution for this year? And so, we're curious as to what our celebs from tinseltown have on their list. Some might have already done their homework and chalked out some for themselves (for example, get into the '200 crore hit club, work with a certain director, tie the knot, take the No 1 spot, make it in Hollywood, etc) and some might not believe in making any. Either way, we decided to dish them out some, which if they followed, would do them a whole lot of good this year. So dear celebs, please take note...
Ranbir Kapoor
I WILL STOP DOING NICHE FILMS AND DO COMMERCIAL ONES
Time and again, it has been proved that the talented Kapoor scion has failed to rake in good numbers with his choice of offbeat films like Rocket Singh, Barfi!, Bombay Velvet and Tamasha. It's time he keeps aside his hunger to get his creative juices flowing and do commercial films (read: Ae Dil Hai Mushkil) and get the cash registers ringing at the box-office this year.
Jacqueline Fernandez
I WILL STOP ACTING LIKE A 12-YEAR-OLD AND ACT AGE-APPROPRIATE ON-SCREEN AND OFF-SCREEN
The Sri Lankan beauty needs to behave like an adult in movies and in real life, too. Prancing around on the red carpet like a prepubescent teen puts the work gone into getting a hot body and gorgeous outfits down the drain.
Sonam Kapoor
BE THE GIRL-NEXT-DOOR FOR ONCE
As much as we love her in haute couture creations, it'll be great to see her let her hair down and appear sans any make-up. Every look needn't be a Cannes hangover. Sometimes it's great to appear not-so-put-together. We'd love to see her rocking a simple white T-shirt worn with a pair of ripped denims and channel her inner girl-next-door. Also, it'll be great to see her experimenting with high-street finds at parties.
Farhan Akhtar
I WILL ACT LESS, SING LESSER AND DIRECT MORE
Farhan epitomises the idiom "Jack of all trades, master of none. Correction, he's a fabulous director and you can't take that away from him. So Farhan, just stick to what you are best at rather than sticking your hand in multiple jars or rather jobs in this case.
Ritesh Sidhwani, Karan Johar and Rakesh Roshan
WE WILL STOP TAKING GOOD OL' SONGS AND MURDERING THEM
Whether it's Disco Deewane, Kaala Chashma, Humma Humma, Laila O Laila " the remixed versions of these songs may work or not. Why don't y'all bring originality in vogue? There's plenty of fresh talent waiting to be given chances.
Bipasha Basu
I WILL MAKE MY PRESENCE FELT ON THE BIG SCREEN
We love the Bong bomshell, but we're tired of seeing your umpteen number of pictures and selfies with your then boyfriend and now husband Karan Singh Grover on social media. How about seeing you on the big screen this year, for a change? It's been quite a while no?
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
EITHER I WILL PLAY A SEDUCTRESS OR WILL BE SEDUCED ONSCREEN
Ash should quit playing roles like that of a screeching 60-year-old woman in Sarbjit and a screeching mom Jazbaa pronto. Our ears are still ringing from all that screaming in 2016. Stick to playing seductress and setting the screen on fire like you did in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
Ranveer Singh
I WILL KISS LESS, ONSCREEN AND OFFSCREEN
Not only does Ranveer need to stop behaving like a hyperactive chimp on steroids, but also needs to curb down his penchant for kissing onscreen and offscreen. Time to seal those lips.
Shraddha Kapoor
I WILL TAKE TIME OFF MY SCHEDULE AND WATCH KEEPING UP WITH THE KARDASHIANS AND LEARN WAYS TO BE INTERESTING
Many have groaned about Shraddha's personality being too vanilla. She needs to spice it up and who better to learn from than the Kardashians?
Tiger Shroff
I'LL KEEP IN MIND THAT I'M AN ACTOR, NOT A GYMNAST IN MOVIES, ON SETS OR ON THE STREET
We know this kid is talented for his dancing skills and acrobatics, but he needs to stop acting like a gymnast in all his movies and focus on achieving some acting chops.
Katrina Kaif
I WILL NOT GO ON KOFFEE WITH KARAN AGAIN
Kat should never appear on Koffee With Karan again because her episode was clearly the most boring in the history of the show. If she can't get talking and blend into the flavour of the show, she simply shouldn't go on it.
Sushant Singh Rajput
I WILL NOT GO DANIEL DAY-LEWIS ON EVERYTHING
Suhant should communicate in a language that common people understand. One should not have to be a rocket scientist to decode the gibberish Sushant spews.
Kareena Kapoor
I WILL BE A SUPERWOMAN
If Bebo can party just three days after delivering a baby, then she can surely work and take care of the baby simultaneously, and rock at both!
Akshay Kumar
I WILL MAKE FIVE MOVIES THIS YEAR
Everyone keeps talking about how the Khiladi Kumar makes four movies in a year. This year, he should go a step ahead and make five movies.
Salman Khan
I WILL PUNCH THE PERSON WHO ASKS ME WHEN WILL I GET MARRIED
People need to stop playing matchmaker for Bhai. It will happen when it has to happen. Period.
Shah Rukh Khan
I WILL ENSURE THAT NONE OF MY FILMS WILL CLASH WITH ANYBODY ELSE'S
It's just too much headache for everyone!
