I'll come back with a detailed review later but for now all I will say is that Dangal was an incredibly enjoyable and heart-warming/up-lifting film. This is serious because I've only liked three Bollywood movies this year and this one tops the list for me.

absolutely loved it...a very enjoyable,emotional,inspiring film,the best film of the year ...with superlative acting from the cast,engaging screenplay and authentic wrestling scenes...

the movie is abt the stubborn father Mahavir who goes against all odds to turn his daughters into professional wrestlers and the glorious journey of Geeta's gold medal win in Commonwealth games...

it very well encapsulates the mindset of the society towards the girls,their struggles and how Mahavir manages to change it...

Aamir delivers stellar performance...he picks up the nuances of this flawed char brilliantly...he takes a backseat in the second half where there was more focus on the wrestling scenes but makes an impact in all the scenes...his most heartfelt performance...

well supported by the rest of the cast...Mukesh Chabra's casting is spot on...

Sakshi delivers a subtle performance...she holds her own against Aamir...her confrontation scenes with him r delightful...

Fatima and Sanya r so good as debutants...their wrestling scenes r so damn good...they were excellently choreographed...looked so authentic...

Zahira and Suhani r rockstars...they r brilliant at their age...they r so expressive...

Aparshakti's narration was hilarious...he and the actor who played the younger version have done a good job...they provide comic relief...

Girish Kulkarni was bland...

hats off to the real Phogats...

OMG we can't get tickets till Sunday . We got for a sad 9.45 am show on Sunday. All shows are booked . It's never happened before.

SPOILERS:

there were many awesome scenes in the film...listing a few of them:

1. the phone convo in which not a word was spoken between Mahavir and Geeta where she sobs...

2. the helpless Mahavir's realization of Geeta's win when the national anthem plays...

3. the scene where angry,determined Geeta wrestles against equally determined Mahavir to prove a point that his wrestling techniques r old...eventually the aging father can't match up to his daughter's strength and looses the battle...this was such an intense scene...

4. the final wrestling match of Geeta...

5. the climax scene...
