Its Ranveer, who, in his entire career had just 2 clean hits that too with the support of Deepika-SLB combo. Without them, he does not have a single Hit film. His only two hit films are Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani. That says a lot about his stardom. 😆
Adi Chopra is a brand just like Karan Johar and SLB. Its his first flop as a Director and Ranveer's another failure without SLB and Deepika. He hardly gave hits in his career as an actor.
A film thats promoted in huge way domestically and internationally but just 10 cr opening? If he had any pull, the film would have atleast managed 12 minimum on first day. His film with superhit music, smooches and Adi Chopra brand name got an opening even lower than Tiger Shroff's low in content, ridiculed film
Adult films also worked at Box Office in India. Grand Masti, Kya Kool Hai Hum, Ragini MMS were successes. Those trash films without Ranveer Singh worked.
Adi cannot be called as a brand, despite his hit history. He always had a successful star in his movie.
When Bhansali created RamLeela, Ranveer was not this big (before BM too). KJo has given SOTY with new comers. Raju Hirani gave Munnabhai with fading Sanjay Dutt. Of course, they may not match Hrishikesh Mukhejee or Basu Chatterjee, who gave continuous hits with non star actors. But still, they all have one film at least with a non star. Has Adi delivered ever? (How much Rab Ne would have collected without Sharukh?).
Their films have a disctinct touch. We can clearly say, this is a typical Bhansali film (sets, costume, drama), typical KJo film (escapist high budget flowery romance), typical Hirani film (A commoner hero with a good heart, raising pertinent, haunting questions at the end). How does a typical Adi film look like?
Adi neither has visibility like KJo, nor has strength to deliver like Hirani. How can he be a brand?
