But Ranbir was sincere in his performance. Also an very risky move for a newcomer in an experimental film and that too as a Sardar. Ranbir did say he only took the film for his Nani, who always wanted to see him as a Sardar and passed away right around that time. He was extremely close to her and this was his way to pay homage to her.
