Is Arijit Singh insecure about his place in showbiz? His recent statem

Without an argument, Arijit Singh is leading the pack of singers in the Bollywood. Belting out numerous hits like Tum Hi Ho, Kabira, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil etc, Arijit's voice has become synonymous with almost all the leading actors. However, the singer himself sounds insecure about his place in the showbiz!

In an interaction with a daily, Singh quoted, "I don't think I have a long way to go. This might be my last year." Referring to the short shelf life of Bollywood's artistes, the 29-year-old singer stated added, "Normally, fresh voices replace (current favourites) every five to seven years in Bollywood."

But Arijit also offers a solution to this tricky situation. "I might be able to change that. If I work really hard on specific genres, I might be able to stay longer. That way, I can emerge as the only singer who can croon songs of those genres. Maybe that's how I will survive," said the Phir Le Aaya Dil singer.

However, being so popular with masses, Arijit keeps a safe distance from any kind of media and social interaction. On being prodded, he stated, "I enjoy a quiet life, without much interruption. Over the past three years, I have seen my fan base grow, and I think it's essential for them to know that I've always been someone who refrains from interactions because I enjoy a silent life. With the growth of social media, this, too, becomes difficult."

Arijit's plan of singing a specific genre songs is good. He is best in Channa Merya type of songs. Now that Rahat is out, he can take Rahat's place.

Hope Arijit has a longer shelf life in BW <3

i agree with him on most of the points but how can singing a specific genre help to stay long 😃 i guess the more vast you expand your expetrise the more you will stay longer ...if u take an example of earlier sonu udit kumar sanu time ...kumar sanu and udit narayan faded out quite earlier in 2004 only ...sonu nigam managed to be in industry for a long time from 95 till 2012 his fame time ...he still get to sing songs which are very modren type because he was able to sing any genre ...had he been limited to a specific romantic sad filmy 90's kinds songs genre he would have been out like udit and kumar sanu quite earlier...papon is good but i still think javid ali didnt got his due till now ...want to listen more of him

I appreciate Arijit's stance on narrowing his genre, it gets repetitive to hear the same voice in high frequency, despite that I really love his voice

We don't realize that right now is nothing like the 90s and before. Now, more voices are coming into the industry via various means, and a variety of voice textures is being accepted and enjoyed.

I don't think Arijit will get replaced, personally. He can well try but I think he'll maintain longetivity

At the end of the day, this is a playback industry.

Different actors suit different playback voices, and that's never a bad thing really.

An industry that can accommodate variety is a healthier one, in my opinion.

Arijit's voice suits many genres and many actors, but that doesn't mean he's the optimal choice for every song.
