Why couldn't Sonakshi Sinha become successful?

She's talented,has worked in 2 blockbusters opposite Salman.She also got appreciation for her acting in Lootera.

She got mostly flower pot roles which bombed.

She did Akira which was a different role but that too flopped.

What went wrong with her career?

Is it because she's not skinny like Alia and Shraddha so she can't wear bikinis like them and expose her body that's why she doesn't get good roles?

Has it become an unwritten rule that bollywood needs only skinny actresses who can shed their clothes?

I know Alia is talented and she deserves all the success but even Sonakshi is talented.

She is moderately successful. The flower pot roles did nothing for her career.

I am a huge huge fan but the fault lies within her.

She chose some super lame movies just because she was friends with the makers/actors.

Also, after Lootera instead of going for films like that...she chose to go for Masala flicks only just because they worked at that time.

But now.

After Akira.. I'm loving the change in her choices. There's NOOR & Ittefaq in her kitty, which are super interesting.

I just want her to keep doing films like this and challenge herself irrespective of how they fair at the box office.

As much as I lovee her for her talent (Man, blown out by Lootera). she is hesitant and has insecurities of not being accepted by audience for her versatile role in Lootera.

Hence, she stuck to roles which offers her nothing as an acting but made her connect with Masses.

Guess, she had her wake up call now, I liked Akira but that movie has its flaws. Though her role was good and so was her acting. She was good

I am so looking forward to Noor and Itefaq. Hoping 2017 will be breakthrough age for her.

I wont compare her with Vidya, but she is 70% close to Vidya in acting area.

She is super talented IMO but super lazy as well to take up strong roles and read good scripts. she does whatever comes to her. But now since Akira I feel she has decided to take up good movies and roles and hopefully this will help her career.

@Bold: Yep she has decided exactly this. She has been saying this in her recent interviews.

" Honestly, I made a promise to myself that 'Akira' onwards, I only want to do roles that challenge me in one way or another," she said, adding that "whether it is 'Akira' or 'Force 2' or 'Noor', they all challenge me in some way or the other"

1. Sonakshi is not exactly the image of a super star female actor. She is more of a Saas Bahu lead actor.
2. Does not have a god father.
3. Same type of flowerpot roles all the time.
4. Not everyone likes her on screen.
