I absolutely admire this guy! He might not be what most people would consider the norm but he is honest and unapologetic about who he is
He is the only director I enjoy following all interviews etc of.. This was a wonderful read specially the full version t4s it here :)

And I get him about the uncle aunty thing at work. He is talking about them in a professional setting where they work for him maybe not out of necessity but to get experience etc. so in that work space u can't call him uncle and it's the right thing

I don't think he did. He meant her beauty is so overpowering, it could overshadow her talent. He said the same for himself too, when he says "nobody would take me seriously as a path breaking director", only because he chooses to be more glamorous, when he could pull off a Kashyap or a Dibaker Banerjee too like he did in Bombay Talkies. He was talking about the adages and stereotypes I guess, and I agree with him, it's everywhere.
