Was okay. The chemistry between Alia and SRK was good SRK doesnt consider Alia to be from another generation he treats them all equally she even calls him Shahrukh.

Funny pickup like from Shahrukh to Alia "F me if i am wrong but is your name Madhushree' Alia understood it meaning if her name is not MAdhushree she can F him.

SRK wanted to handcuff Alia in bed too. Alia was also feeling the same.

It wasnt that bad but Karan is all about Alia he is not into SRK anymore like he used to be. He just goes after successful people the moment you are down he does not want to know.

i and i guess everyone knows this story of Ash - SRK spat.

It was sporty enough for SRK to admit on national televison that Ash is not someone you mess with.

^SRK looked like he wanted to crawl into a hole when Karan was annoying Alia with all those questions about her boyfriends and sex life and first base and second base and all that.

SRK even said he's glad those coffee mugs are so big so that he can hide his face behind them.

Karan really needs to control himself or at least pair up people from their own generation so they don't feel so uncomfortable.

This was obviously a DZ plug, but it really didn't make me want to watch the film tbh.

God Alia is practically 30 years younger than SRK! SRK was seriously uncomfortable...and he is generally shy about such things but someone his own age it wouldn't have been that bad for him. Neither did SRK want to hear about her sex life nor did she want to talk about it in front of a man her dad's age, which is totally understandable. The conversation could have veered in many other directions without focusing so much on Alia and her life. SRK didn't treat Alia like a kid as many adults do to younger people, so the actual talking section could have turned into so many other things...

He didn't do anything to her career. He chose not to work with her because working with her brought too many of her love life problems to his set. It's his prerogative to work with whoever he wants. The rest of her career is her own issue, not his.

And he didn't apologize to her for "rising like a phoenix." 😕 He apologized because she hooked up with Abhishek and the Bachchans because he was good friends with them before her arrival. He would always bump into her due to them so eventually it made sense to not carry on a very old fight that made things awkward for everyone.

Jaya Bachchan even said publicly that she loves SRK to the point that she would have even switched dates of Abhishek's wedding for him but Ash as the bride didn't want to invite him so she couldn't do anything. Even Shweta has talked about how much her mother loves SRK.

His apology had nothing to do with her career of her rising like a phoenix. Everyone in the industry treats her better now because of who she married.

Karan-SRK clearly are just a rumour. There's way too much admiration in Karan's eyes to be more. I never felt he ignored SRK, there was quite some talk about him in between the constant nagging of who's Alia dating nonsense. Only thing that felt fake was SRK's 'getting the cinema right' - How is Dilwale getting the cinema right man? Maybe he's talking now on - all his upcoming projects look top notch, that I can agree on.

Alia was okay. I didn't like her diplomacy. She could have neither accepted nor denied anything, just clearly stated she'd like to keep her private life private. I like her, but fake diplomacy off screen is not a trait I want to see in a future star. Karan's obsession with his launched star-kids is creepy. His expressions - god! I got scared.

P.S. - I now know who told Ranbir not to be so good so early in his career that he mentioned in an IV not so long ago. I thought that would have probably come from SRK. There is no other male mega star except Aamir (since Sallu Bhai toh baat hi kahan ki hogi usse!), and Aamir anyway practically semi-adopted/worships him. Since he said the same thing to Alia. I genuinely, really liked the way he explained it though. It's such an intelligent thought process for those who grasp it. 'Cause when you're a star so soon, there's a loss of disinhibition at doing certain things/scenes/acts! How true! What a different, interesting way of looking at things!

You ain't alone! I liked it too! And liked it even more after watching the online version! They edited so much out of the episode man. I didn't get as to why Shahrukh did the butter chicken recipe the way he did...I now get it! 😆

It ain't the first time he has mentioned the cinema thing though. I think he even mentioned it in the interview he did with Rajdeep Sardesai last year on his birthday. That he wants to do quality work. Of course one can look at some of his past films and question that but like you said his upcoming movies definitely seem content driven. Not to mention the guy was brilliant in FAN. I also don't think Shahrukh would give up on commercial potboilers man. He has been in this business long enough to know that one has to strike a balance between a niche cinema as well as out and out commercial movies. A CE won't get him the critical acclaim that a FAN does but it translates to great success at the BO which I think is also something that one can't do without considering how much focus is there these days on the BO. I mean Ranbir had given a fantastic performance in BV as well as Tamasha but everyone has been talking about how his films weren't working on the BO. So that balance is darn important I feel. And hopefully he'll be able to strike that with his upcoming projects.

I watched that interview of Ranbir's and I was like ahhh..so it was Shahrukh who told him that! 😆 I don't think he was impressed by that advice if you go by his reaction but I totally get what Shahrukh meant here. I liked how frankly he stated that he used to look down on certain things , which I think he has stated in the past as well. That he was attracted to the character based roles as opposed to the cliche hero roles initially as he comes from a theater background and how the things we consider cliche can be so difficult to pull off! This is why I have stated quite often that people think it's darn easy to pull off a Rahul and Raj but I don't think it's. These are larger than life characters and to portray them with conviction requires immense skill. No wonder he has stated that it's easy for him to play a Kabir Khan in Chak De or even a Gaurav in FAN as those characters are still more grounded and so well sketched out.

I don't think I suggested anywhere in my post that rising like a phoenix had only to do with her career? 😕 She was removed out of a lot of films and she was suddenly jobless so she had to look for work elsewhere - she made some noise in Hollywood, came back with a bang to BW, got married into the illustrious Bachchan family - all this from 2003 to 2007 - from suddenly becoming jobless to rising both personally and professionally was indeed rising like a phoenix.

The same Jaya Bachchan also said she would slap SRK if he said anything wrong about Ash. Of course he didn't apologize only because he felt he wronged her. He apologized because she is not just still very much a star of her own but also much more influential thanks to her surname.
