Yes. KJo became friendly with Aamir through Ayan, Ayan became friendly with Aamir through Bira, Bira became friendly with Aamir through Katty. And it all started with a double date. And it all happened so early that it became obvious KJo was desperate to be a friend of Aamir. I remember we discussed his desperation at the same thread.

Before you jump on me for saying the truth let me tell you what SRK admitted on how he met Rohit Shetty to say he wants to work with Shetty. He said he was interested to work with Shetty. So he asked Bebo to arrange a meeting with Shetty. Bebo arranged it.. SRK-Shetty collaborated and kicked Bebo out of CE.

Same thing KJo did for Aloo. He used Bira.. Bira asked Imtiaz to meet Aloo.. then KJo asked him to make a movie for Aloo.

This is how it works. No biggie meets with another successful person directly. If he does, the other person understands the ulterior motive or thinks the biggie is desperate. So, everyone uses or makes his own channel to reach the targeted person.
