i can bet if those old lyrics and compositions were sung by a singer of these days woh baat naa aapaati ,,,,,SRK have used arijit singh in current era and they couldnt made a good actor singer pair ...arijit raw voice didnt suited shahrukh khan face ...same was the case with jab tak hai jaan saans song "Saans main tere saans mele" mohit chahuan didnt suited shahrukh khan face chrasma ...the fact is its something inborn talent not every voice can gel well with the actor face ...the magic which udit narayan or sonu nigam or kumar sanu created for these actors can not be seen in today time ...
although i can not comment on all the singers that wheather they needed any actor to lypsynh their voice so that they become popular :D 😃but sonu nigam was a successful individual pop star before he became a mainstream playback singer his pop albums were chart basters and in an interview bhusan kumar who head t-series said that Deewana album of sonu nigam helped in revival of T-Series music company as after gulshan kumar death T-Series had a very different position ...
