I have a better comparison...Dil Dhadkane Do.

Both Urban films, similar budgets, Anushka Sharma in both. Infact, PC is bigger than Aishwariya and bonus of Anil Kapoor + Farhan Akhtar. You can have all the edge in the world, how can you go wrong with it. What did it gross, 65 Cr? ADHM should do that in about 5 days.

DDD did beat Tamasha 😉 I'm talking about RK's latest movie vs RS latest movie, both ADHM
and BM have so much in common 😛 why shouldn't ADHM outdo BM at BO ? 😆

i dont understand why people r still thinking the actors name alone can make a movie certain amount of money

it doesn't matter who the actor is, if the wom is not gud and if people r not interested in the film they will not watch it

people just want to watch a gud film at the end of the day, nowadays coz of high ticket prices people r not able to watch multiple films at the cinema, they hav to be selective and think which one is worth their money

and coming to befikre, it all depends on wom, if it gets gud wom it will do well and if not then it won't, thats it, so it doesn't matter if ranveer is in it or any other actor, it all depends on how the audience responds to it, ranveer has done the best that he cud in the film

Fine, then we'll just wait till Befikre. Compare the 2016 releases, why even bother about the past? If Befikre out opens ADHM which had pre Diwali + clash, I'll admit Ranveer is the brightest young(ish) star on the horizon. But I'm no Ranbir fan, so it won't be as sweet for you.

but why do u think adhm opening figures are solely coz of ranbir? the buzz was created by many aspects such as aish, anushka, kjo as the director, the music, i even know some srk fans that went just to see his cameo, so we can't just rest the whole credit on the male actors shoulders

which is why comparing a star status on box office opening numbers does not make any sense, maybe for the khans it does coz they r superstars and they hav created a space where people come to watch a movie solely because of them, but the other actors hav not reached that level yet, thier movies still hav to depend on positive wom and buzz to get people to the cinema halls

So if Befikre does not open well it be becuase people r not responding well to the content, BM opened well coz of high pre release buzz and positive wom

wen will we get out of this cycle of comparing actors? with every film release all people care about r box office numbers and who is a bigger 'star', we shud just let the actors make hopefully gud films without this constant pressure of box office

@ friends_rock -
What kabeera and I are indicating is that Pakistani fans across the world are not as extremely attached or passionate about their stars as much as Indians are with theirs. How many Fawad fans do you know who are Pakistani..that went crazy over ADHM JUST to support Fawad? A few arguably, but nothing in extraordinary numbers. Mahira Khan is a big Pakistani star..but none of her Pakistani movies have done extraordinary business amongst Pakistani audiences within Pakistan or overseas. I remember her film Bin Roye releasing at a theater in Times Square, in NY (many Pakistanis here)..but, people barely came to watch her movie JUST because she was in it. It doesn't work that way with us..at least not yet. Of course your point that the Pakistani film industry isn't as big as Bollywood's is very true..but I don't think it refutes the argument that generally speaking, Pakistanis aren't as passionate about going above and beyond supporting their favorite celebs on a day to day basis..be it in whatever way. It's a different culture as kabeera mentioned.

So going back to my orginal point..to suggest that Fawad fans outside of India which would primarily be Pakistanis..brought in the big millions is silly. Yes, his presence was a contributing factor to bringing in his fans, Pakistani or not.. but definitely not as significant as some here are trying to imply. Fawad is a great performer..he has also achieved his share of popularity very quickly over the past few years...but he does not have a worldwide fandom as big as Ranbir, at least not yet. Dare I say it, there may be more Pakistanis who are Ranbir fans than Fawad fans..and that may also be because Fawad is not as recognized for his work as much as Ranbir is..because the latter is an out and out movie star from a huge film industry. The outreach which Ranbir has or has had is inevitably unmatched. This takes away nothing from Fawad's talent or popularity as some would like to think..it is what it is as of now.

I dont think fawad cared abt this movie much. It was a cameo and now he must be like acha hua jaan chuti.

I don't know about Indians within India..but, I highly doubt NRIs or desis in general really are too bothered about proving their nationalism by watching or boycotting a bollywood movie. People aren't as serious or worried about such trivial things from what I've observed here in NY at least. Heck, I saw white people at my theater taking seats for ADHM. 😆

Omg same here! A few of them even cheered for Ash. And I have to say the subtitles that they would have been following were hilarious!
Bhurji paratha became caramel and cheese popcorn 😆

Fawad really are you kidding me . Who knows Fawad ? He is only popular in this forum not overseas. come out from our imagination. Fawad did two or three Bollywood film(as a supporting actor)and people thinks like he is the only superstar of this generation. He will become the next Vivek oberoy or Fardeen khan of BW.

This. Though I disagree with last sentence.
People only on this forum are obsessed with him because of looks. Even in real life everyone that watchd K & S disliked his character the most (atleast out of two brothers), but for some weird reason everyone here was going so relatable with him.

REally?! Taking your brothers talent and hard work and becoming very successful off of it while he struggles every day trying to make a break through?!
