Not quite.

Those movies that are block busters have big stars that are worshiped by their fans and will watch a lot of crap they make.

This also proves Ranbir is not at that level yet and not a superstar like the Khans etc.

True.

Hailed the best actor of this generation in all of Bollywood.

If that is true BW has really gone down hill.

I don't think he has the BO pull of a superstar.
A Besharam with Salman or a Tamasha with SRK would have done 100-150 crores. So yes, producers should not bet as much money as they are doing on him.
However he is a superb actor. Very few of his performances are below par. You can't fault him there.

Ranbir and other actors will have pull only when the Khans, Kumar and Devgan will rest their cap. Or at least when people will get tired of seeing them.

What is needed is a cyclone like action from new generation - one who can break through this wall. A la Rajesh Khanna or Amitabh Bacchan.

Khans and others had it easy. There was a vacuum at the top. There was no question of getting approval from elders, very little comparison and many producer ready to take chances on them. Which is necessary when you factor in the amount of flops they collectively accumulated at start of their journey. I think Shahrukh had least no. of flops. But they all have what is called as "So bad that they are hilarious" kind of movies in their resume.

For some time, I thought Ranveer might be the one. He had critical acclaim and mass approval in the same year. But now I am not so sure. He just doesn't seem to take anything seriously.

Varun is still not seasoned enough but he is so dedicated that he might be able to touch the brass ring in few seasons.

Sushant is still new. Tiger needs acting lessons. Shahid seems to have made peace with his choices and his life.

Ranbir on other hand is ready. All he needs is a movie where he can roar rather than wail. His skills are never in question. His fear to try something ferocious is what holds him back.

There are many too cogs in the machine that is movie-making to say who or what makes or breaks a film. Like Ranbir says quite often, sometimes the camera angle that is used for a scene changes the effectiveness of the emotion/performance that is coming through, etc.
Because we believe in the star-system, we just put the faults and laurels on the actors (read: stars).

Honestly, putting the entire blame on actors is not right if a film flop then alot of factors contribute
Morover things are changing todau its the storyline that decides the fate of film if audience could connect with it the movie will work otherwise not
For ex, Srk s fan or dilwale didn't worked even after habing king khan in it
Coming to ranbir then he is the best actor of his generation because of his talent and not surname .
He is very versatile as an actor from innocent helpful prem to grey shaded samar pratap and from impulsuve jordon to barfi and thrn bunny of yjhd he has done it all and that to brilliantly

I am just giving u an example of how several technicians also go into elevating an actor's performance. Movie-making is an amalgamation of several things. I, for one, cannot pinpoint the blame on just a person.

funnily enough when a film does do well the script writers and film crew are thrown out of the window and the actors and actress get all the praise.

When a film does badly they suddenly become the focus of attention.

good joke.
