I will also add the improvement graph acting wise which DP has been able to show over the years - she was 'bad-decent' to begin with & now she is a 'good' actress .. I think most people also noticed it & are impressed by her commitment , hard work & results .. she is the current 'success' story .. perfect combination of talent , beauty , sex appeal ,elegance , grace , hard work & commercial viability .. her rivals falter in one or more aforementioned aspects , thus the competitive edge over others ..

Her acting isn't terrible but nothing to give too much praise. I mean, compared to a lot of other "actresses" out there she is far better. I mean it's no different when other people praise actresses for their average dancing, or those with ott expressions...but what can you do?

In IF? Hasao mat.
Deepika is over-criticised in this forum for pretty much everything. Most people in IF don't even consider her actress. Yearly debates on ... if she deserves to be called a superstar/the numero uno/an actress/a woman or all that's PR made. 😆

She's not the best actress ever (agree with the ranking of actresses as bad, decent, good and brilliant, and she falls in the 'good' category for me), but she has improved substantially. I think her best is Tamasha (that the movie was not successful is besides the point). She did a great job conveying her emotions for a complicated character that did not have much screen time and left a mark on me. I think she got pretty much panned for Bajirao. I liked Piku but as an ensemble, and Mr. Bachchan and irfan were outstanding as well.

i agree...wonder where the TM saw people praising her...i have only seen people bashing her, here on IF, whether its her work or her personal life.

She has been even s**t-shamed a lot. 🤢

Because she's the only actress who went from wooden pretty face to a decent/good actress. The improvement is there to see.

Sonam also improved but people are considerably more harsh with her.
