Deepika to begin shooting for Padmavati next week without Ranveer

Deepika Padukone's look test is done, and the schedule will kick off with a song filmed on her.Sanjay Leela Bhansali must be most relieved. After months of speculation about the lead cast, dates, title credits, one studio backing out and other major teething problems, the film is ready to roll. In five days, SLB's ambitious Padmavati will roll with a song sequence featuring Deepika Padukone performing ghoomar (Rajasthani dance).

Says a source, "Deepika has already done a look test for the film and Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor will be doing the same in a couple of days, separately. Both have been growing their beards and hair to play their respective characters " Shahid as the Rajput king Rana Ratan Singh of Chittor and Ranveer as the Sultan of Delhi, Alauddin Khilji. The dance sequence will be shot on a set constructed at Mehboob Studio. Shahid and Ranveer are not needed next week as they are not part of the song."

A set based on Padmavati's Water Palace from the Chittorgarh fort has been constructed at Mehboob Studios and Rajasthani folk dancers who have been flown down for the song will be performing with Deepika and train her for the dance.

Well we are glad that Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced Padmavati as there have been a lot of hurdles that he has been facing in terms of the cast of the film. Especially Ranveer Singh, Bhansali's blue-eyed boy had been having a lot of issues with the second lead actor Shahid Kapoor and he even demanded that his role should be meatier than Shahid's in the film. Moreover, Mr Singh even refused to share the space with Sasha on the movie poster of Padmavati and SLB was left with no other option than to decide to come up with three different posters for the film. Also, there were rumours doing the rounds that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is so fed up with Ranveer's antics that he even decided to never ever work with him again. However, the actor-director duo later resolved the issue and now all is well between them.
