So m fed up with this, When tum bin 2 teaser released then people started chanting they are ruining a classic in herd mentality (on YouTube ) Same with songs of aise na mujhe tum dekho and maahi very, tumhe apna bnane ki etc.
I wanted to say classics never get ruined, infact we should be thankful that even if remakes are worse, still original is being remembered bcz of this. Many people revisit original bcz of this n praise it then how classics get ruined?? Even they gt deserving popularity bcz of this.

I agree!!
People who say "aah, i like old one better, they ruined this" ..it really looks like they're overacting, especially when the remake is good or decent.

I personally love all remakes, unless it has bad music.. but still I enjoy them because listening to them, being remembered by the new music composer in itself gives a warm feeling..

And yeah, the period between late 90s to early 2000s when Indian pop songs had so many remakes of classics were the sole reason why I got interested in old classics. Despite listening to the classics ever since I was born, the remakes released during that period made those very songs special.. I cannot explain it.
I say remakes should be made from time to time! (hopefully with good music).. I would want my children to like old classics too :D

Usually 'ruined' word is used when same classic is 're-made' with same story and everything. Otherwise I could care less about how many sequels are made of my fave film (thankfully there aren't many). I would just stick to the one I love and ignore the rest. Like I will do with 'Tum bin 2.'

A classic gets ruined when they do a sequel not a remake imo.

Remake chahe jitna bane kya farak padta hai.
Viewers ke pass option hai na dekhne ki.
Jisko pasand nahin na dekhe.
Sirf original hi dekhe.
Jisko remake dekhne ki interest hai wo remake dekhe.
Aesa nahin ki original movie kahin gayab ho ja rahi hai.
RGV ki AAG bani isliye ki Sholay bahot popular hai.
AAG banne ke baad to Sholay ka importance khatam nahin hua.
Ulta log compare kie ki original kitna better tha
AAG chahe jitna bhi bura movie wo original movie ka kirtimaan ko dhwans nahin kar paya.

Classics and remake is like relive the moment with different beat.

It doesn't affect the originality of classic or creativity of remake.

Remake always has to stand and tested at the touchstone of classic to be accepted.

I actually like some of the remakes. Albeit rarely, but still.

Some of Sanam's songs of old classics are wonderful for example. I made a playlist of those and it's been on loop ever since.

Movies, bleh. It depends. The problem with people taking a jab at the remakes is that once you play with the originality, it kind of always takes a dip. There's never been a movie made better than the original, and often, they're extremely tacky and cringeworthy. I suppose that's why the backlash.
