Do u know Army people are forced to retire at the age of 35 to 45. after that they live on pension only. becoz their age to get a better job is gone. they will get a job of security guard of some Mall or pvt. company. This is the age when their children need more support. that's the age when they need a job more becoz at that age family's needs are more. Farmers have their land for their life, Soldiers dont have their job.

My cousin was holed up in Siachen for 2 years where it never goes beyond -20 degrees even during summers. He used to say that every time he came out of his bunker, only to take a whiff of fresh air, there used to be a shot heard from the Pakistani or Chinese side! There was no one to talk to or even to look at for days on end. Its a miracle if you come out of Siachen without being injured or dead!

He had to undergo psychiatric counselling to get over his fear of closed spaces once he was back to civilian turf!

And then people here are grudging that the Army guys get discounted Atta and Chawal!🤪

I agree. Some people on top positions may have a lavish life but not all.
Some people claiming to be from Army family seem to be simply lying and actually have no idea what goes on.

Indians ka kuch nahin honewala hain...when people of our own country speak in divided voices. Unfortunate that death of soldiers should not draw empathy out of us now because they are supposedly paid more than dying farmers...SMH.

My respect for Paki members has increased cause atleast they speak in one voice. Its rare to see a Pakistani even raise a finger at his country's cross border terror sponsoring policy openly without coercion but we Indians are first in line to defend them and question other Indians about the tears they cried for Pakistani soldiers killed in a terror camp. Most Pakistanis celebrate the death of Indian soldiers at the hand of terrorists on SM, do Indians do the same?? How many Indians on SM celebrated the death of their 2 soldiers??

Apologists on the forum need to realise how insensitive and inhumane they are being in the name of humanity and tolerance.

Agar Officers ki ye pay scale hai, so socho Shipai, Subhedar, etc. lower rank ki kya pay scale hogi.

This is the basic pay on which DA, HRA and other allowances get added up. But yes entry level people I guess get only 20-25k all inclusive which is too less for what they do.

We are not risking our lives working in Corporate jobs but Army families are always in a worry because anything can happen anytime. Army men hardly get to be with their families and are always away and in spite of all this they get paid so less.

We should stop the entire compensation system for anybody in india.

Airlines should stop compensating flyers who have died in an accident.

Govts should stop compensating victims of terrorism, accidents, murders, natural disasters.

Govt should absolutely not compensate any defence personnel if they die when performing duty.

Because, hey they all live a lavish life than the vidarbha farmers.

When members dont have a logical answer for discussion they come up with bizarre Shobha de like comments.

People in the forces do get benefits but i don't think any of those benefits can compensate for a life lost. No, even 20L or 50L is not going to help console families who lose their loved ones.

I've been to the Wagah Border and i've attended the retreat ceremony there. And my respect for the army men increased infinity times. One, they are guarding our country in such extreme circumstances, two - sooo many officers including girls stay there leaving their families behind. I don't think those families would even bother about money. All they would want is for their loved ones to be safe and be brave in their fight.

I don't think i have the guts to go stay in such remote areas like these officers do, leaving my family and loved ones behind. We have no right to belittle their contribution to our nation. Of Course, they might or might not need funds but that isn't even the question here.

N the issue of farmers and malnutrition doesnt even fit in here. Of Course whatever lil help they need, we as citizens can definitely help but comparing all this to our army is extremely unfair.
