Do newcomers these days lack an X-factor?

Hey!

I don't know why, but a lot of today's actors, especially female actors just seem bland and lack charisma for me- Kriti Sanon, Shraddha, Disha Patani etc.

Do you agree? If yes, why is it so? If no, then list your reasons.

I feel like beautiful people are so caught up in their beauty these days that their personalities lack depth. They don't have the charm that a Madhuri or Sridevi did. Maybe 'cause they are ensconced in their world of Instagram likes and Facebook comments, they don't really build a personality.

Very few of them have the enigmatic draw of Rekha or the measured impact of AB Sr.

In a film industry, I don't think it's important to just be good-looking, 'cause you eventually get bored of a pretty sight.

Also, they don't seem to be great actors. Just passable. Are we so obsessed with pretty faces that we have stopped giving due importance to the 'act' in actor?

I agree, something *feels* missing in them. I have high hopes on Disha Patani though.. I think she has it in her.. She has nice eyes, emotes well through eyes - the only thing I noticed in her, that even mainstream actresses fail to do well.. especially since she's new.

Yes...but like leaders we get what we deserve when it comes to actors too.

I think an actor can have an X-factor but still lack star quality. According to people, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Irrfan Khan have something about them, but not star quality. Most actors till the early 2000s had to have something defining about them, whether they went on to become stars or not.

Nowadays, it seems like the only criteria is being easy on the eyes, at least for female actors. That too a very prototypical standard. For male actors, it's anyway so difficult for outsiders to make it while the industry guys are also sort of meh.

Alia is okay, she doesn't have anything special in her...IMO.

There's this new girl in that song.. 'Gal Lag Gayi', she had nice vibes in that song.. She has that playful diva thing in her, in that song.

Among guys... i know :( ..not one. 😭 Sushant is the only one I like as a whole - onescreen + off-screen. He's very hardworking. I think he has good personality from whatever I have read or seen of him.

I also like Tiger.. he's so gentlemanly :D ..his demeanor is pleasant.. but that is off-screen. Onscreen he's ...he doesn't have it, not even voice :(

Should see how Harshvardhan is, he seems to have a mind of his own, but sometimes I feel the young blood talks too much.

EDIT -- I like Varun though... he has that hero thing yet an earthy appeal in him.
