As far as I know she went into movies despite family disapproval. Even after struggling for so many years she stayed in movies because she wanted to make a mark desperately.

Kareena kept getting offers after atrocious performances in MPKDH and Yaadein.Karishma kept getting offers.Aishwariya was offered heroine oriented films Jazbaa and Sarabjit to kill it.

Aishwarya and karishma are no actors. They never acted in their whole life. Kareena can act.

I recently happened to watch Umrao Jaan and while Aishwarya was no shakes in terms of acting, but she was a joy to watch...I would say she did a pretty decent job in the movie...And there are other movies too like HDDCS second half, Taal etc where she did a commendable job as an actress...

Kareeena too, can be a good actress if she wants to be...

But Karishma is the one who falls behind in these three...Her voice is the most annoying thing about her...

I always found Karishma to be a better actress compared to Kareena and Aish and I loved her in Fiza (especially in the scene when she cries after her mom's death). She was good in Shakti too but the movie was OTT. Kareena has always been OTT but currently she has mellowed down and in heroine, she gave her best after JWM.

Aish was best in HDDCS but after that I could just see her screaming and over acting in all her movies. There was one movie where she played the role of Amitabh's sister and she was so damn bad in the movie.

If I had to rate them in terms of acting ability it would have to be:

1. Karishma

2. Kareena

3. Aishwarya

Karishma has shown a lot more versatility in her films than the other two. Yes Fiza, Zubeida and Shakti are counted as her best performances but if you catch a few glimpses of her earlier films like Jeet or her films with Akshay there was scope to act. She wasn't hamming like people are saying the girl delivered long intense dialogues with the right expression and passion. You forget your wathing Karishma as she becomes the character. I'm never bored when watching her films because you can expect a good performance as she keeps the audience engaged.

Kareena has shown glimpse of the spark in Jab We Met and Heroine but I would call her a lazy actress because she lacks the passion to experiment. She's got it in her but is unwilling to tap that side of her for reasons best known to her. Aishwarya is a pretty face but again her screeching and forced dialogue delivery makes her unconvincing in her roles. The recent one being in the Ae Dilwale Hai Mushkil trailer where she says something to Ranbir and it does not feel heartfelt at all. I don't enjoy her acting but she was good in Devdas.

Yes, Karishma didn't get the big banners and did not get a chance to get with the best directors like Kareena and Ash but she surpasses them as having the whole package of a commercial bollywood actress. People need to give credit where it's due don't take that away from her.

People also need to remember when Ash came into films she was sitting on a Ms World crown and Kareena was eating the fruits of Karishmas success otherwise I would doubt she would be offered films like KNPH with Rakesh/Hrithik Roshan or a Refugee with ABs son Abhishek. Karishma is self made she started from the bottom at the tender age of 16 and saw success and failure but never gave up.

A lot of people gave Vidya Balance credit when she did films like Dirty Picture/Kahani as paving the way for women oriented films. Well Guess what...Karishma did that a decade back with Fiza, Zuebida and Shakti. People are applauding Priyanka for Quantico for doing a TV series and rightly so. She deserves the success but Karishma had also attempted TV before she settled in her not so successful marriage with Karishma: The Miracles of Destiny's where she played a young girl to an old woman. It didn't go on to be a huge success but some people are taking the piss out of her career. The woman is extremely talented and broke stereotypes in all forms be it in dance, fashion, exploring different acting avenues. She was a rage in the 90s something that Aishwarya and Kareena did not see in their career. They were successful in their own right but there was mass hysteria around Karishma and still is.
