I am a silent member here but I have followed various discussions in this forums which I have always found insightful.
Anyway, I watched this series called Stories by Rabindranath Tagore on Netflix. I have actually not finished with the entire season. I have kind of been hooked to this show which I believe also comes on EPIC channel.

I have personally loved his progressive thoughts in his stories, and his portrayal of strong women in all his stories which at the time was a rare sight.

Anyway, I would love to hear everyone's thoughts on it 😃

Also found this article in Times of India so sharing it here.

Friendly discussions welcomed 😊😊

Although many of his actions can be put under the scanner, but his work is SO above all these that I dont want to 😃
Yes some of his female protagonists were way ahead of time. One of them being Binodini in Chokher Bali. That's why it makes me so furious that Ritupo*no Ghosh has chosen a pathetic actress like Aishwariya for that character and then had her dialogs dubbed and ruined the essence beautifully

Two more notable characters would be Charulata And Mrinal 💔. I am not sure about Mrinal but Charulata was made by Satyajit Ray too (I didn't know about this EPIC channel, I will have to catch up with this now). Also, there are many short stories of RT which had many remarkable women characters.

Sharatchandra Bose was another eternal writer who had fiercy female characters who were born way ahead of time and was free from all the rusted rituals of our society of that time. ❤️

Stories by Rabindranath Tagore is a piece of art that needs to be treasured. Anurag Basu did such a fabulous job with it. And yes kudos to Gurudev himself. His thoughts and characters remain relevant even today.

Didn't watch it but read quite a few stories. My mother is an intense Tagore lover. Know the story of Chuti, Chokher Bali, Kabuliwala, Shahsti, Noukadubi, Haimanti.
Will definitely check out the show! And it's directed by Anurag Basu! Another reason to watch it!

I never heard about this ..thanks for the info..Surely catch on sometime
Tagore's short stories and novel's had fierce women characters..I think 'Charulata' was the best Tagore adaption I have ever seen..Satyajit Ray even went ahead with open ended ending..Another masterpiece was 'Ghore Baire' that too was directed by Satyajit Ray..Bimala was a very strong character as well..Apart from heavy duty staff 'Tin kanya' was sheer joy. If you get chance you can watch these movies
