Like I'm listening to and looking at the songs of this movie, and the movie's cinematography and just overall direction and camera work seems so fresh! The tone of the scenes is beautifully warm, if that even makes sense? lol. And the songs are SO good!
The cinematography especially for this song, Sau Aasmaan:

And Katrina's expressions are especially so good for this song, Nachde ne Saare! I swear this is the first time I have seen kat give such varied expressions while dancing.

So, My conclusion is that this movie just seemed to be packaged as a fun/comedy romantic story, and was actually a slightly emotional melodrama type of movie? (Correct me If I am wrong, I haven't watched the movie). But, from all the songs I'm watching, it seems to be stellar work by the director (at least in the songs) and even kat seems to have put a lot of effort into her expressions this time around. But, maybe at the end of it all, the script ended up being too much for the actors to carry with their capabilities, in addition to it being packaged as something different than was shown in the trailer.

All in all, I'm impressed with the camera work and direction in the songs, it's all so refreshing somehow, knowing that there are hundreds of such contemporary movies coming out each year with fun songs, it somehow sets itself apart. So, will definitely look forward to more of this director. I know I'm being weird basing off so much on these songs, but i'm honestly impressed! lol. I think this movie would have worked if the script had been lighter!

Movie slow hogayi, I expected many comic and romantic moments, but all I got was confused face of Sid 😆
Personally I liked the movie.l, but I understand why it was not liked by many. as my sister said executing this type of movie near impossible without adding comic element.

In the recent times, it is most stupidest thing the directors and producers are doing! Don't EVER ever mislead your audience by showing something different in the trailer and having something different in the movie, unless it's so great that it's an elixir to the mankind! lol. But, no content is ever that great to fool your audience like that, it only ends up hurting you in the end, and you also end up marketing your movie to the wrong type of audience.

True! By all accounts, it seems like a pretty heavy and convoluted script that would be harder to carry for even great actors! I think bollywood should just stay away from such scripts, unless you are raju hirani, that knows how to carry forward such scripts IMO.

Otherwise, yeah. The producers and directors really need to learn to market it right if they are making a serious movie, with the right trailer so it is directed towards the right audience. I'm guessing it would be annoying seeing such story, when you are expecting a light hearted romantic comedy instead. lol. 😆

This.
People shout "Content! Content!" But how many movies that BW produce actually have content? In a year, we don't get more than 3/4 movies with good content. Rest are flawed products. And those flawed products work because of those other factors... like timing, star-cast, songs, herd-mentality, absence of negativity, etc.

Touche! There's barely few movies each year with good content, so the rest have to snatch any benefits they can get from those other factors you listed. I guess that's why they are thinking, that hey, since we have these fun/party songs, why not just promote the movie with that?! and not worry about showcasing the serious script and the story line in the trailer. And it works to a certain extent, at least for the opening profit when the audience first goes to see it, but then the biggest factor jumps in which is WOM, and if you don't have that in your favor then even the movies with greatest superstars fall through. I think that's why all this hype and songs are not that useful to indicate the movie's success in today's time because once you have a negative WOM, you are done for! It wasn't like that in the 2000's so much as it is today.
