The movie would be 100x better if Saif was replaced by a guy same age as Deepika/Diana, and if he was alone at the end, and they individually found themselves!

Never got the hype of "Cocktail" movie !!!

two extreme type of character...and average acting from all three actors.

Its a stupid film.
And yeah, its a reality! Majority of the guys (Indian) prefer homely/reserved kind of girls when it comes to marriage.
Ek toh it was so unrealistic, watching two girls fighting for someone like Saif Ali Khan 😳
All the three characters were badly written. Plus it showed such a twisted definition of "mordern" girls. Acc to the makers, a girl partying/drinking/sleeping around with men was mordern & the one working & cooking/looking after house/reserve was sanskaari 😕
There is nothing like mordern girl IMO.
At the end of the day it comes down to personal choice. Just cuz a girl doesnt party around, she isnt regressive & just cuz she DOES, she isnt a s**t; or as they call "mordern", which totally has a different meaning in today's world (read s**t/wh**e etc)

I think you're mitigating your own point by saying that the movie needed to show "Veronica redeeming" or as "a good-hearted person". She already was shown to be a good person as she took in Meera and helped her get back on her feet in her time of need. And what exactly did she need to be redeemed for? She wasn't the one going behind her friend's back and cheating. Can't blame her for being upset with that. As for her drinking habits and sex life, it left a really poor taste that they explained it away as her reaction to being neglected. Obviously, women who enjoy drinking, and sex must be doing so in response to deep-seated emotional issues.

What I found more disturbing than the offending distinction between the "girlfriend material" and "wife material" was the fact that these two ladies tossed their friendship out the window vying for the attention of Gautam, as though he was some sort of amazing person when really he was an unapologetic, philandering ass throughout the movie. Any guy who has the "one woman to bed, and another to wed" mentality is not worth any self-respecting woman's time.

I m really impressed by few comments on this thread! Yes i would call it hypocricy but at the end it is the reality of the society we live in.!!!

A guy would want a girl to mess around with but when it comes to marriage its the sweet innocent shy girl that they look for her. Reality !!!

Hated the concept of people can only fall in love with a sanskari girl.

Why should a man marry an irresponsible, party girl and just assume she's going to be a good wife and more importantly a good mother, because you know CHANGE! Not like she was some strong ambitious career woman who he dumped for a housewife. That would be regressive.

PS: Men also prefer girls with some meat, rather than sticks but most women's life goal seems to revolve around being size 0. So what do women know anyway!

If a girl or a guy is a player then yes anyone will feel hesitant to be with them cos they may have some STDs. People can still date such guys/girls if they can look beyond it and they love each other enough for that.

BUT just because a girl is not a virgin does not make her a "sl*t", what kind of a ridiculous logic is that! People don't even know the definition of sl*t - it means a girl who charges money in exchange of sex.

Why aren't guys called some name too if they lost their virginity before marriage? So a guy can not be a virgin but it's important for a girl to be a virgin? Regressive as hell.
