^ agree. That's why I can never sympathize with women who have affair with married men. Rekha, Sridevi, Sangeeta , Hema, Yami - they all deserve the trauma.

interesting..
Amitabh Bachchan hails from a proud, professional, honest, intellectual middle-class background.

This reality defines the man and the professional. In the years that Amitabh grew up, his family was well received by the aristocratic class " the Nehrus and the Gandhis " and by the intelligentsia because of his parents' contacts and achievements. All this obviously contributed into making Amitabh the man he became.

Amitabh grew up in a middle-class ethos that made romance and marriage congruent and sneered at bigamy, adultery and extra-marital affairs. Amitabh's mother Teji, who was his guiding force, was well-connected and extremely active in the social circuit. When Amitabh chose Jaya, she too had similar qualities. I read somewhere that in a party Amitabh flirted with Mousumi Chatterjee not knowing that she was already married and tried to cultivate Sharmila Tagore, unable to recognise her as the great star. Interestingly, all the women were Bengali and petite. So he was looking for a 'Jaya type'.

After Zanjeer and Deewar, Amitabh rediscovered himself anew. By then he became a big star and changed his social milieu. He shifted from the Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Desh Mukherjee world into Yash Chopra, Prakash Mehra and Manmohan Desai camp. The last three were totally mainstream cinema. I think that here Amitabh suffered a kind of a split within himself. As an angry young man he overcame certain barriers of his 'repression'. I think that in this moment in which he discovered a new kind of a liberated self after the success of Deewar and Zanjeer, he 'fell' for Rekha, a new woman for a new self.

I think Rekha's adulation boosted Amitabh's ego. For Jaya, such undying devdasi kind of adulation was not possible. But Amitabh would have never married Rekha " she was the daughter of a bigamist and therefore not 'culturally right', she also was not the 'middle-class' that he was in. But his heart was with Rekha and in an interview Jaya said that it was not possible to control anyone's mind, probably referring to her husband's mental involvement with the other woman.

Amitabh has an adventurous mind. He is interested in the fact that women get attracted to him. His frequent visits to Parveen Babi and their listening to music together appear to me to be more of inquisitiveness on Amitabh's part, something that Indian men have of progressive and liberated women. Amitabh does not seem to have been really emotionally entangled with Parveen. Like Rekha, Parveen's hopes too were raised by Amitabh's attention because when Parveen returned stark mad back to Mumbai she accused Amitabh of stalking and trying to kill her.

It appears to me that Amitabh has two minds, one free, solitary and even asexual, a sign of geniuses and the other a typical middle-class socialised into believing in the nuclear family based on monogamy and romantic love that necessarily culminates into marriage. Both these 'selves' have existed in his marriage. This is why even without Rekha, Amitabh would have appeared to Jaya to be sometimes there and sometimes to be not there and never quite wholly belonging to her. Amitabh has the mind of a single man, he looks after his family because it is his dharma.

As I could observe, and at that point of time I was nearly 20 years younger, Amitabh and Jaya were ideologically apart. For Jaya, there was a distress about why Amitabh did the films that he did. The change in the power position within the marriage as Amitabh became successful also changed the soft, intense and emotional romance which Jaya and Amitabh had.

As a father and now as a father-in-law, Amitabh has been doting. Shweta was pampered and her father made sure that she had everything. In Jaya's words, in a television interview, Amitabh now tries to compensate Shweta's absence in the home through Aishwarya. I feel his idea of the perfect woman is fulfilled by Aishwarya; the perfect woman as an image and not for consumption, something like a daughter would have done.

Rishi Kapoor also had affair with many women (Dimple, Divya Bharti, Juhi Chawla) others, while he was married. He had alcohol problems and used to beat up Neetu Singh. She even left her home to open a beauty saloon to take care of Ranbir and others.

When you enter into an affair with a married man, you sign up for substantial emotional trauma.. When he cannot be faithful to the one he married, why would you think he would treat you any better?
Amitabh is a terrible terrible person if he had all those affairs but the ladies are no better for getting into relationship with a married man.. Amitabh is more at fault but the ladies are no less

That's true and even I can't feel sorry for both Rekha and Parveen as they both were adults and knew what they were doing was wrong. I just feel bad for Rekha's childhood (as she wasn't responsible for that being bad) and Parveen's end (she had nobody besides her during her last days, not even her family).

Amitabh is said to continue having affairs even after his daughter got married. I'm glad Abhishek did not turn out to be like his dad.

another one

Amitabh Bachchan had given 12 consecutive flops before Zanjeer.

Sunil Dutt signed him for a mute's role in Reshma Aur Shera because of a letter of introduction from then PM Indira Gandhi to friend Nargis.

Kalyanji-Anandji helped him in his struggling days and even introduced him to Prakash Mehra

Comedian Mehmood was also a mentor to Mr Bachchan in his days of struggle and offered him place to stay in his own home.

Kader Khan - Former Mentor and dialogue writer of many films starring Amitabh Bachchan lashes out at Amitabh Bachchan in an interview. "Kader Khan told that Amitabh Bachchan discouraged him to join politics, while he himself became M.P. He said that Amitabh told me, if people will approach you for politics, then I would tell them that you are not the right person, I would discourage them to vote for you, I will ensure that you don't win'. Kader Khan, who wrote dialogues for Amitabh's hit films like Satte Pe Satta, Naseeb, Muqadder Ka Sikander, says that Amitabh was ruined by politics. Kader Khan further added My relationship with Amitabh got ruined after he became MP. I was not happy, because politics changes people. When he came back, he was not my Amitabh. It was very sad'.

Jaya is often heard saying, "Amitji is a loner!"

When he was out of work at the turn of the millennium, he called and asked Yash Chopra for a project. Mohabattein happened.

Several Actresses rejected to be casted against a "Flop Actor" in Zanjeer until Jaya Badhuri signed.

Amar Singh - Friend turned Foe calls Amitabh Bachchan "Greedy". He once told media that had he not helped Amitabh he would have become bankrupt & says Amitabh don't have courage to say this to him. He also said, he helped him but life taught him a lesson that, "help needy not the greedy".

Amitabh Bachchan was accused in Bofors Scam, Crime against Humanity for the 1984 riots, 500Cr Money laundering and land scams.

In an Interview to a film magazine dated 1989, Parveen #Babi said "Amitabh Bachchan is a super international gangster. He is after my life. His goons kidnapped me and I was kept on an Island where they performed a surgery on me and planted one transmitter/chip/electronic bug right under my ear." There was a photograph of Babi showing a scar below her ears.

Shayali Bhagat accused Amitab bachchan of Sexual Harassment.

Amitabh Bachchan had extra marital affair with #Rekha (bbc exposed it during one of its interviews with Yash Chopra), an affair with Zeenat Aman, Jaya Prada and Parveen babi. About Yash Chopra's khulasa, I'l put the excerpts of the interview below;

The BBC Asian Network managed to a pull a coup of sorts when it aired an interview with legendry filmmaker Yash Chopra who confirmed one of the most infamous affairs in Bollywood.

In the interview on Sonia Deol's show on Wednesday 11th August (listen to clip below), Yash Chopra spoke openly about the Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha affair in the late 70s / early 80s. It's the first time since the affair that a person of Yash Chopra's stature has spoken so candidly about it.

He said the affair was definitely going on before he started work on Silsila', which coincidentally mirrored what was happening in real life. Yash said, "I was always on tenterhooks and scared (during Silsila) because it was real life coming into reel life. Jaya is his wife and Rekha is his girlfriend - the same story is going on (in real life). Anything could have happened because they are working together."

Yash said that Silsila' was not inspired by the infamous affair; even though the movie was released post the controversy. He further added that he was only able to complete the film (despite the rising tensions) because he had good relations with the cast. "I cast them because they are great actresses, not because of what was going on. I felt lucky to get them."

Even now, the #Bachchan clan is remaining tight-lipped about what really happened, so no doubt this public revelation on the BBC Asian Network will cause embarrassment to the family.

Yash said, "When a man and woman are doing romantic scenes it's not possible they won't get in a relationship - in the past it wasn't so open, but today it is. No one cared in the past."

Britain's popular Asian weekly, Eastern Eye has also covered this story. Earlier this week, showbiz editor, Asjad Nazir tweeted that the filmmaker and the BBC Asian Network had betrayed Amitabh Bachchan for exposing the affair.

Some suggested that Amitabh had met in an angry exchange with the BBC Asian Network for broadcasting the interview, however the station denied this. It said, "Following the interview with Yash Chopra on the BBC Asian Network's Sonia Deol Show on Wednesday 11 August, we have had no contact or correspondence from Amitabh Bachchan's representatives."

However, host Sonia Deol expressed her surprise at Yash's revelation, "It's a rumour we have grown up with, but no one has ever confirmed it," Sonia told Eastern Eye.

True, if Amar Singh (who is just a nasty loathsome vile pig) had not helped out Sr when he WA a bankrupt by Giving him KBC, there never would've been the revival of the Legend B. Sr has always struck me to be a deeply opportunistic man--- A sweet knife, who uses the exact moment when he is done with you to chuck you out of his life-- Like he did with Singh, Rekha & countless others. He has deep abiding lust & some selfish love for Rekha maybe, but that woman is full mental honkers about him!!! He would've moved on too if she hadn't decided to latch on like a leech. I blame Sr much more, he had vows to keep, she did not. Responsibility has to be owned by the person concerned, not by other parties.

Mini: He loves middle class values, sure, but he was never middle-class. His father was a famous renowned poet & intellectual & his mother was a beauty from an aristocratic Sikh family-- Hence the jolly reception by fellow ruling class family, Nehrus & Gandhis. There have also been many rumours over the years that his mother & Nehru were involved, lol.. He certainly does believe that Ash is the epitome of Indian Woman but it's drnakly mighty sickening the way they go on & on with their "Bahuraani & Paa" shit when half of BW & others knew about their affair on Mohabbetein, Khakee etc. I also can't forget reading a Jaya B IV where she said, "Amitjee's eyes just light up when Ash comes home!!" UGH. YUCK. The one who seems the most sane in that family is the one thought to be the least stable-- Jaya. It's only thanks to her that B Jr & SBN are
So impeccably brought up & genuinely well-cultured. All star kids are hollow in front of them.

^^ YES YES YES. It's also been hinted more than enough in papers & magazines. Everyone knows it, no-one talks about it. Openly. Too much power he wields & all that.

I don't know if they hv put it in the autobiography but it is well known that Rekha went over to confront Amitabh at his house prateeksha at juhu and ask him to own up to his relationship with her. He had her thrown out and she was running down the street barefoot.

It is also well known that when amitabh had his accident, rekha tried to meet him in his hospital room but was turned away..by his family.

She then had a fling with some younger actor and afterwards after his recovery, when she tried to meet amitabh at Goa, he refused.

I think he has tried in his own way to move away from her but she is like a chudail following him.

You never hear of amitabh having followed rekha to somewhere or turning up where she was going to be...

has she mentioned i her biography that she made a move on Akshay kumar during khiladiyon Ka khiladi or something when Raveena was his girlfriend...raveena tolerated for some time until she started bringing home cooked food for akshay on the sets...she put a stop to it.

In stardust magazine when she was asked about akshay affair with rekha, she said candidly...Akshay tolerated Rekha during the shooting..nothing more.

This is a woman who makes moves on other peoples partners with no compunctions.

I hv zero sympathy for her. I dislike amitabh. Never bought his cultured man of indian ideals image. But I think if she didn't play marys little lamb to him or play stalker to him, there wouldn't hv been anything from his side.

She was like a maniac obsessed to the point of psychotic levels turning up wherever he and jaya went..and then saying look, he loves me, not jaya.

I say if he didn't love jaya, he would've divorced. Didn't Rajesh and dimple divorce? Didn't Vinod Khanna divorce? Mahesh BHATT? All around his contemporaries were divorcing, marrying women younger and more beautiful.

But he built a home with his wife and two kids, which is a close knit family of today. No one in that home went into depression or tried to committ suicide or anything..because of this affair...they moved on..jaya carried on her work, her life. The kids grew up to be good kids. No drugs, drinking, trouble with law.

Rekha would hv loved to see that family unit fall apart, for her own selfish reasons. To say, he loves me, that's why. Didn't happen. That family flourished instead. Without her. It is the truth. She was an obsessed stalker woman who thinks she should get what she wants. Whether it is a Vinod Mehra or amitabh, sanjay dutt, akshay kumar. Makeshift whatever.

+1000 of course the man is the one who should blamed the most but the woman also could restrain herself from this mess but she didn't ..instead followed AB whenever she can.
