Even if not a clean hit was Drishyam a profitable success or a flop ?? Case if it succeeded then AJ had successful films in every year of this career except 2000, 2001, 2007, and 2013. An if it is a fail and will add 2015 to the list. Still 25 years and just 5 bad years is pretty good.

Nobody cares to read his interviews, see his pictures or want to search him on the net. There is no "hype" there...Its not the same like it is with Hrithik, Akshay, or even The Khans..

So how has he even survived despite having no star power or any public interest? He comes across as boring as well lol...He's a good actor for sure...but since when has that been enough?

Ajay is a convenient superstar. He is useful when he clashes his films with actors you hate so that you can uske kandhe pe bandook rakhkar goli chalao. Otherwise you even forget he exists which works out well for him too as he never suffers the impact of flops unlike other stars. Ajay has not given any hits without Rohit Shetty in the last 5 years apart from SOS which incidentally was a clash for which he played the victim as he is doing now.

He's massive in small towns, the hub of action heroes, the heartland. So no those guys don't go around googling and instagraming and retweeting AD but make no mistake, when his film releases they'll hit the theatres in hoardes.

All that said, his box office record without Rohit Shetty is dismal with only an occasional OUATIM or SOS breaking the bank. Nonetheless, AD is way beyond hits and flops at this point of his career.

PS If social media was the measure of success then Sonam Kapoor would be a superstar.

Did he survive in industry for 25 years with the help of Cannes and beauty?
