its about the star power..the bigger the star the more the reaction for their W*F statement even if it was varun speaking this he would have got a stronger reaction for his statement than sid is getting

Sometimes we all may mix up and have trouble articulating whatever we feel or want to say and I think that's what happened with this case.

He did say he is not that insecure to compete with a female actress ( i think he just meant that he is working on a film and he should be working on himself, his focus should be on improving himself and not competing with his co-actor, who in this case happens to be a female)

with the male and female energy, he is right different things are expected about males and females from the audience, there is no movie where the actress doesn't dance whilst the actor does, atleast not in bw ( sorry if i am wrong) he didn't say males are meant to "act", he just said something different is what is expected of them in comparison to females.

how easliy he tried to justify not getting attention coz of katrina's dhumkas etc which he says he cannot do..dude even if katrina is standing in a frame with you she will take away focus..credit her more..also was akshay also doing dhumkas in brothers? or ritesh in EV? cos you were pretty much overshadowed there too..so stop with this grossly sexist statement and work on your flaws..you lack presence..and that has nothing to do with what gender is next to you in a screen or doing what..

Sid still needs to grow up a lot and LET KATRINA SPEAK for God's sake.

😆😆 Yes I noticed that tooo... He just wasn't letting Katrina speak. He was like this overexcited boy.

No actually, on the contrary, he doesn't mention the love story bit. It's Katrina who comes in to do a bit of ass-saving and adds that 'love story bit' to do some damage control for that stupid statement. 😆😆

You are definitely going to be compared to your co-actor.

I GET that he was PROBABLY trying to say that there's no point competing with a heroine I'm romancing but he could've phrased it so much better.

Don't we all say things like 'Oh, Kareena stole the limelight in Jab We Met' or 'Kangana stole the thunder in Tanu weds Manu' .. BOTH these stories had love angles to them and both their co-actors (R Madhavan & Shahid Kapoor) were brilliant in their own spaces. BUT even in the same team, there's always a man of the match.

What I mean to say is - it doesn't matter whether Sid was talking about that one song or in the context of a romantic movie, the fact is as actors, you are sort of competing with each other.

OF COURSE Sid can't play a female role & Katrina can't play a man in a film... they are not vying for the same 'roles'. But performance wise, you will surely be judged and compared with your leading lady or leading man eventhough you're part of the same movie.
