JTHJ's performance is irrelevant to business practices. YRF as distributors sell their films together like UTV, Fox, Eros, everyone else does. Some films books screens for 2 weeks so a film releasing the week after has trouble too. The courts didn't find anything wrong with this. The courts however did tell single screen owners that they are allowed to break their contracts and screen any film they want -- in BM vs Dilwale. If single screen owners chose to screen JTHJ over SOS and honor their contracts, that's their choice. Not YRF's.

There aren't enough screens to accommodate 2 films. In a clash, they have to be prepared for that.

That tie-in-agreement forced Single Screen owners which only gave 600 Screens to SOS, without that agreement it would have got 1200.

CCI rejected case coz ADF announced release date later on, but what YRF did booking 3 months in advance, just at the time of ETT, making it impossible for exhibitors to say NO to YRF, all this looks desperate measures, which even showed in box office performance of film.

The BO is irrelevant to the outcome of the case considering Ajay went to court before the movie was released, And the whole intention there was to obviously get more screen space and project YRF as a production house which was not abiding by the procedures laid out there. The court in its order said that it sees no merit in the case. That the premise that is being constantly spoken about here as well had no merit to it. That it did not violate a particular section of the Competition Act which is what Ajay's company was accusing them of.

^Yeah but generally people don't pay much attention to the news.

All they heard is that YRF does shady practices and they are the big mean bullies against little baby Ajay. Then the controversy dies down and the result of the court case comes months later and it is hidden in some small corner in the newspaper. Nobody sees it or remembers it.

So in the end the person who does all these PR stunts benefit even if it is completely false.

People just want entertainment.
