I wonder what changed it
A couple of weeks and a movie vanishes

yes..I agree with the opinion that so many bad movies are being made that even mediocre or below mediocre ones seem good...like I watched Holiday 2 days back and I thought it was too dumbed down..no subtlety...the terrorist was such an idiot that he fell for virat's provocation so easily at the end..and the provocation was so obvious,so transparent.I fail to understand what was so great about airlift either...akshay is one actor who has done such bad stuff that any 'patriotic' movie of his is liked these days.
I should confess though that I don't see a lot of movies..5-6 in a year...so I haven't seen neerja(that seems a good biopic unlike others)..I haven't seen many movies of directors like anurag kashyap, anurag basu, vishal bhardwaj either..haven't seen udta punjab either.

I agree.
Until today we still talk and reference KKHH, K3G, DDLJ etc...

Will anyone in the future reference films of today? In the last 5-6 years, I cant think of any film that will be remembered the way KKHH or DDLj has been remembered.

Forget 5-6 years...I dont even remember anything in the last 10 years; none of them have repeat value or iconic status. I dont think anything about K3G has been so impactful.

Yes there are lots of films that have made a lot of money but nobody cares. Does anyone even talk about Wanted today? or Houseful? Rowdy Rathore?...You just watch those films and then forget they exist.

Even other films like Paa, TDP, Kahaani, Rockstar, Bajirao Mastani, ...We already dont care about these films lol

I'm actually so disinterested in even discussing it. So most probably, you are right. 😆

I don't know about other things but yes, nepotism is definitely more prominent because we have a generation of yesteryear stars with kids who have reached an age to be launched into bollywood. Some of these kids are doing well and making a mark while others are there due to the curtsy of the family name.
The stories are changing but with changing stories there will always be a flow of the typical masala plots. It's gonna take a while.
As for the mediocre actors, what can I say, we as an audience want pretty dolled up individuals on the main screen. The problem is that not everyone can have the talent and the beauty. A lot of the great actors don't get a chance in bollywood because of how they look or because they lack connections.
