the budget is 48cr including P&A?

then it'll be atleast average might even be hit if it makes it to 60-70cr

btw I don't get his box office thing because bang bang budget was 140cr and it made 140cr and still it was called semi hit. If the movie needs to make double of its budget to break even then all these movies would be flops like jai ho, dilwale, raone, etc

weekend I think will be 28cr might even go higher.

A Flying Jatt Falls On Monday

A Flying Jatt had a big fall on Monday as it grossed around 2-2.25 crore nett. The fall is over 60% from Friday and although the Monday is the fifth day rather than the normal fourth which it is for every other film, the collections are just too low. The film managed to stay afloat on Saturday and Sunday but Monday has killed any little chance it had at the box office. The first week business of the film will be 34-35 crore nett and getting to around 40 crore nett liftime is a best case scenario for the film as occupancy is very low on Monday which will mean a big hit in screenings in week two. Below are the first five day figures of A Flying Jatt.

Thursday - 6,75,00,000

Friday - 5,50,00,000

Saturday - 7,00,00,000

Sunday - 8,25,00,000

Monday - 2,00,00,000

TOTAL - 29,50,00,000

The film had covered around 30 crore in revenue from satellite, music, overseas and digital and had to cover around 25 crore from domestic theatrical to be safe but with this Monday drop it looks like 19-20 crore domestic share at best..

@adventourousman here's what Indicine wrote about the film's costs:

" If the film finishes below 30 it'll be a box office disaster.For hit it has to earn more than 60-65 crore. It'll recover costs at 55 crore net."

BOI says Flying Jatt needed 25 crores from domestic theatrical to be safe, meaning the film needed 50 crores approx to get that 25 crore share and be safe (similar to what Indicine said).

Looking at the trend, I think the film is looking at a lifetime finish in the 40 crore range. It seems like the film will get a Flop verdict.

The thing with verdicts of a film are that all factors have to be considered, not just the theatrical revenue. Revenue from satellite/music rights are an example. Also, the price that the producers sell a film to its distributors for has to be considered. The producers may make profit (revenue from music, satellite rights, selling film to distributors, etc) but distributors that acquire a film for a heavy price can end up losing. If a film was sold to distributors for about 100 crores, and the film collected 150 crores net, about half (75 crores) only would go to the distributors, which would mean a loss of 25 crores. Meaning, it could be profitable for producers, but a loser for distributors. Usually, such a film can attain average/semi-hit status at best, depending on profit to producers/loss to distributors.

Happy Bhaag Jayegi AVERAGE - Flying Jatt Second Weekend

Happy Bhaag Jayegi is an AVERAGE fare as it held steady in its third weekend with a drop of under 50% which is better than its second week trend. The film is not a major success or anything but in an industry which has seen 157 releases till date in 2016 and just nine films do average or better business, its not a bad result. Basically prior to Happy Bhaag Jayegi if a chart is made of the top ten films of 2016 then number ten spot would be filled by a flop film and now Happy Bhaag Jayegi has that spot and is at least not a flop. We have to go back to 2002 to see such a low success count in the first eight months of the year. The business of Happy Bhaag Jayegi till date is as follows.

Week One - 17,48,00,000

Week Two - 6,71,00,000

Third Weekend - 2,25,00,000 apprx (3 Days)

TOTAL - 26,44,00,000

A Flying Jatt fell badly in its second weekend as it dropped 90-95% and grossed around 1.25 crore nett. The film will finish with lifetime business of under 35 crore nett.

Koi Aur article nahi aaya..... wait for 2nd Week completed one 😆

Tiger is much bigger star than Varun, Dishoom's articles vanished after 1st week figures, didn't even had 2nd weekend one 🤪

2nd week completed se kya farak padta hain...kuch change toh nahin hoga. Waise I agree on Tiger being better than Varun. I like his action sequences, dancing, comedy scenes and he is affable onscreen.
