Why should surrogacy not be allowed if the couple has children? If they want more and medical science allows them to have more, tou problem kia hai?😕

Only happiness is spread through surrogacy.

Unfortunately that's not true in every case...There are millions of babies being left behind for various reasons...Some change their minds, some happen to conceive on their own and then decide to abandon the surrogate that they have hired, some abandon the surrogate when the baby is disabled, some abandon the girl children and some abandon the other twin...Surrogacy is illegal and a taboo issue in most of the developed countries...Even if its allowed the law gives more rights to the surrogate mother than the couple who hire her...If the mother decides to change her mind and keep the baby, the law allows her to do so...That's why the couples from these developed countries opt for surrogates from countries like Ukraine and India where its legal and relatively cheap...

Bottomline - the issue is not as black and white as it seems to be!

Laws can be tightened regarding surrogacy but banning it is unnecessary.

Genetic testing is not a 100% risk free solution...The baby can still be born with disabilities...And what about the idiots who abandon the girl children?There is no law that can bind the couples from the other countries...They will simply not show up and the mother will be stuck with the baby!

Why can't you see that its not as black and white and simplistic as it seems...This is a business involving humans and not some commodities...

ya strict actions must be taken on misusing n on commercial surrogacy.ban on commerical surrogacy n not on total surrogacy.ethic surrogacy is allowed,i think it's necessary n right decision 👍🏼

It is as well true when India's population is on a rise what is the need to have 100 kids at home?
If you want kids pls adopt more so that homeless get home.

So is the government now going to tell people who have one biological child not to have another one? What if a couple cannot have a child and want two kids. Yes adoption is good. But not too many people are comfortable with it. Yes adoption is the right way to go but in India most people are not open to the idea of adoption.

Also it is almost impossible for a single man or woman or a homosexual couple to adopt in India. Basically this law discriminates against these people and ensures that they can never have children.

If population control is an issue then I can assure you that its not the ones who go through surrogacy who are adding to this issue

exactly! While iam not denying that surrogacy is a boon for many, but many are creating a business out of it...and there have been many cases where the children have been left behind coz its not the gender they wanted or child is abnormal etc. This has both negative and positive aspects!

Han tou making that illegal would make sense na.. Like a couple would be punished if they abandon the child or that the foreign nationals cannot use an indian womb.. But why can't a couple that has children opt for more via surrogacy?
