Zee - How was your interview ? Any good news?

Aww thanks! That's sweet. I'll try I promise. 😳

BW forum on IF, actually most forums on IF, like extremes. Extremes don't do it for me. I find that 'boring'. Plus people are fixated too much on personal lives, and less on genuine actor performances.

I like watching Ranbir, Deepika and Ranveer if they give worthy performances. Ranbir is a natural, whereas Ranveer has evolved with time. Ramleela was life-changing for him. I've said it before, I disliked Deepika in OSO and loved her in Piku. Katrina is still a horrible actress, even though she's mighty hot. Couldn't care less about their personal lives. Visiting BW forums means fighting with people to prove that point and pitting actors against each other based less on their work, and more on their personal lives, which is why I try avoid posting. 😆

I suppose that's why I love Ranbir's interviews (except when done for promotions with co-actors). There's another one Tete-a-Tete with TIBP I think which is absolutely brilliant. If people find this one boring, then they would probably sleep right through that one. For me, it's such a classy interview, they talk about film making, great movies, character sketches and how he was influenced by it all. That is HOW an interview should be done. KwK is a shame next to the TBIP interviews.

Pinks - We loose lot of people to negativity of forum. I feel that many RK fans exist in real world but they don't bother to be part of forum for same reason.
I saw that TIBP interview . RK talks intelligently about movies. His passion is infectious.
Keep visiting and please be active when ADHM releases. We need genuine fans like you.

Will try! 😉

I hope ADHM will be his 'bouncing back'. Let's hope so. I don't care much about box-office figures, but since his career needs it - I hope it does good. 😊

Finally got around to watching this. Really enjoyed it, Ranbir spoke really well in regards to his career and his weaknesses and what he needs to do in the future. As for the personal life, he said enough. Not too much not too less and stayed dignified. 👍🏼

The whole interview was actually good. Ranbir came off as introspective person who knows his job and is passionate about movies. He is not bashing anyone in this interview, seems to have good head on his shoulder and sounded smart. In fact it felt like Rajeev Masand came up short and there were too many soft questions. Also there was more emphasis on Ranbir's love life (and result) and less on his movies. As if K-Jo asked Rajeev to help rebuild Ranbir's image.

On other hand, Ranbir seemed more interested in talking about movies and everything related. He even made spotlight on personal family life feel curiously mild. Considering the fact he is talking about some of biggest stars Bollywood has seen, he seemed curiously detached. No Anil Kapoor/ Varun Dhawan style chest thumping.

Also there were no Ranveer style OTT statements. When it came to Katrina, his answers were reserved. Respectful but reserved. He did look harassed during Tamasha promotion. I guess he hates too much self promotion.

(BTW I love Varun, Anil and Ranveer. Love their energy).

It is interesting how he dismissed his own movie choices by saying he is far more eclipsed by his current directors who are veteran and more savvy about film making. And also how he is fan boy at heart. I will be more interested in future interview to know what Ranbir's experience was working with these directors.

If he was indeed asked for Star Wars audition as he says, all I can say is he dodged the bullet. People still love Han Solo, Leia and Luke. Poor Poe and I don't even remember his name and the GIRL are just faint memory. All I remember is Han Solo dying at hand of his son.

Ranbir is brilliant actor and unless someone is really jealous / troll, they will have to agree he is here to stay. Nepotism does not always work in Bollywood. Even when Raj Kapoor was alive, being Kapoor scion was never sure sign of success. Randhir and Chimpu are prime example. I remember reading how Raj (while making Bobby) had told Rishi that I will make this movie for you. But you will need to have talent and work hard to get people to see your movie.

Ranbir is right about maintaining some mystery. There is way too much information floating out in press.

Though sometime I feel he needs a good PR or director who will help him get 1 hit per year.

On being shaded by Kat and Deep -sorry to be harbinger of bad news but their shelf life is limited. Age catches up with female stars and Bollywood fans are firm believer in ageism. It hurts but that is the truth. Both girls are fast reaching that age. I won't be surprised if they will be replaced along with 50+ Khans one day while their male contemporizes along with Ranbir will still be working.

I see little bit of Guru Dutt and lot of Leo in Ranbir. I just hope he avoids their negative traits. I am looking forwards to his future films.

Is he depressed or done something? He is looking like a zombie here.
Now I suspect that Kattu dumped him coz he is a flop and Kattu is a smarty😉. She Boarded a strong ship and it turned out to be Titanic🤣
