Alia Bhatt: Taylor Swift would've been s**t-shamed had she been living

Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra have been rumoured to be dating since the beginning of time. Neither of them have confirmed it, and they've been spotted together multiple times. In an interview to an online publication, Alia explained her entire train of thought:

"Look at Taylor Swift. She's dated, like, everybody. But if she was here, she'd be totally shamed for making those choices. Her image and appeal would be very different. The reason actresses don't talk about their private lives is because in our society there is a lot of s**t-shaming. Eventually, I have a responsibility and I have to protect myself."
The 23-year old Highway actor explained the situation citing herself as an example, "Okay, suppose I say that but is it necessary that it stays that way? What if tomorrow I am not in love with him and feel differently about it? Then what? It's not written in stone, is it? And I don't want to be in a position where they come after me because I broke up with a dude. "Oh, aapka break-up ho gaya, ab agla kaun? Who's next?" This shallow and stupid thinking is just the reality of our society which doesn't allow women to be the way they'd like to be - free and independent."
The Udta Punjab actor has been subject to plenty of trolls, memes on social media, however as it turns out her words mark wisdom, way beyond anyone else her age. She will be next seen in Gauri Shinde's Dear Zindagi along with Shah Rukh Khan, and then in Ayan Mukerji's Dragon opposite Alia Bhatt.

She still gets s**t-shamed. If someone doesn't know what the eff they're talking about, they should just shut up. She got mocked for writing songs about her ex-boyfriends at the so-called Academy Awards. It's not necessary to pin the blame on one society for everything.

But Taylor Swift does get shamed which by the way she took part in too😆

Taylor's annoying af but she does get s**t shamed all the time. And Alia the way way you phrased that "she's been with like everybody" is shaming her too. So moot point and shut up.

Sometimes I wonder if she think of what she is going to say before she speaks? 😕 S**t-shaming, has been and still is a problem in the West as well as other places.

Alia i fully get what you wanted to say but girl throwing another famous girl under the bus is not cool even i dont like Taylor but you should have used other words to explain your problem with it.

Girls in every profession and country are s**t-shamed if the nummber goes above 2 and the worst part is that those people who are doing it are also mostly women than men
