Kangna Ranaut, Irrfan Khan signed for Ritesh Batra's next

While Kangna Ranaut and Irrfan Khan had announced a unique love story, an international production titled Divine Lovers, the deal did not materialize and the film had to undergo a few changes owing to the actress' date issues. And now Kangna is all to reunite with Irrfan for another film, which will be directed by The Lunchbox director Ritesh Batra.

Right after Kangna's exit, rumours of a cold war between the actress and her co-actor Irrfan Khan started surfacing. However, putting an end to all those, it seems that we will finally get to see this unique pair playing a married couple on screen. From what we hear, Ritesh Batra's forthcoming directorial is about a husband and wife who get affected by a major real life incident that happened a few years ago. Though the rest of the details are being kept under wraps, it is being said that the film will also have a strong message for the audience. Kangna, who is excited about working with Ritesh, revealed that she loved the script and that she has already given him dates for next year. It has also been learnt that Ritesh will be taking the help of an international crew for the film.

The untitled venture is slated to go on floor in March 2017 and by then Kangna Ranaut will also be wrapping up her much ambitious historic venture Rani Laxmibai.

Did they forget that Ritesh is working on this film? Kangu should calm her PR down. Sometimes she is claiming to replace Deepu in Padmavati and sometimes doing Hirani's next.

Ritesh Batra all set to direct Jane Fonda and Robert Redford

Avinash Lohana| Mumbai Mirror | Jul 11, 2016, 09.32 AM ISTJane Fonda - Robert Redford

Ritesh Batra"s next is a film adaptation of Kent Haruf"s 2015 novel, Our Souls at Night , which centres around two lonely neighbours in a small town

After his 2013 film 'The Lunchbox' received worldwide acclaim, Ritesh Batra went on to direct Brit heavyweights Emily Mortimer, 'Downton Abbey' star Michelle Dockery and veteran Jim Broadbent in the upcoming drama, 'The Sense of an Ending'. Now, the filmmaker is set to team up with Hollywood legends, Jane Fonda and Robert Redford, for the Netflix adaptation of Kent Haruf's novel, 'Our Souls at Night'.

"It's a poignant love story about two neighbours who have lost their respective spouses. I instantly fell in love with the story and the characters after reading the book a few months ago. After a round of discussions with the producers, I came on board a few weeks ago," informs Ritesh who while speaking to Mirror (January 28, 2015) earlier had hinted that his next would be an adaptation of a novel, a coming-of-age story of sorts involving two older people.

The director adds that his only meeting with Redford was several years ago at the Sundance Lab. "We had a brief telephonic conversation about the film recently. We will meet soon," Ritesh informed.

In the book In 'Our Souls at Night,' a widow named Addie Moore pays an unexpected visit to her neighbour, Louis Waters, a widower whom she's known for years. Alone, with their grown children away building their own lives, the two strike up an unusual friendship.

Incidentally, the theme bears resemblance to The Lunchbox as well as The Sense of an Ending, with its lead character seeking companionship. "I definitely like to explore the idea of loneliness. It's a universal condition that everyone can relate to," Batra explains, adding that he'd spent the first 18 years of his life with his grandfather and that has helped him prep for 'Our Souls at Night'.

The filmmaker has another project in the pipeline, Photograph, which is set in Mumbai and revolves around a photographer. "I write slowly, but I think I am getting close to finishing it now. It's a mix of drama and comedy and I will start casting after I finish writing the script," he concludes.

Awesome. This Jodi was waiting to happen. Loved Lunchbox. 👍🏼

Looks like this movie only goes on floors in second half of 2017. Kangy confirms...

When contacted, Kangana replied with a text message, saying, "Ritesh and I met last week. I loved the script. I have given him dates after March, once I am done with the shoot of the film on Rani Lakshmibai."

With Rani Laksmibai shooting wrapped up by March, it might become the 3rd release of Kangana next year. 🥳

Did Kangana not just say (like literally within days) she would not sign any films until she finished Rani Lakshmibai?

And yet she owns up to movies like Revolver Rani or Katti Batti which were flops.
