Depends on how the story is narrated.
I am maybe one of the few who enjoyed KANK to an extent and can see why the consummation was added, but the amount of melodrama and extra things ruined the movie. I simply y detested scenes like where Rani dresses up to seduce abhishek and there amitabh is standing with his colleagues! yuck! How did Karan ever think an asian audience would enjoy that? But the characters were interesting, all four of them were grey .. it could have been a very good movie had it not been half baked. Plus i also understand there desire for consummating thier EMA, as SRK sees Abhiskeh romancing rani .. for me consummating doesnt matter when they were emotionally so attached .. usk baad karte ya na karte .. doesnt matter. They had started cheating long before they slept together.Another thing that made KANK tank was because it was narrated from the POV of the cheaters .. it should have been a multiple narrative .. like udta Punjab .. that would have worked .. no one can listen to cheaters!

Abhi's character wasn't grey.Was it?
One of the nicest roles written for him and one of his very best performance.

Too much sugar also acts as poison. He was grey for his inability to ever understand what his wife's mental state was. There are numerous scenes where he takes away the cake, makes Rani feel guilty for always being rude. Posing to be the bigger man because he didnt bother about the kid. His too much goodness was what suffocated Rani - his sacrificial nature, trying to be perfect all the time pushed Rani over the edge to some extent.Having said that, the above paragraph was from Rani's POV, Abhishek did what he could to save the marriage, the best anyone could do, but he never realised it wasnt working, for me that was his flaw. That made him grey. He thought whatever he did was enough and Rani had no right to persist her aloofness.

@ boss , except kill bill i have no idea about the other movies you mentioned.
Why exactly you thought I could not have watched IP? 😆
Because it is such a revolting concept almost a taboo and questions every belief you ever had on subjects like marriage, loyalty etc. Some people also tagged it as immoral and corrupt because they were all rooting for a happy or expected end but it differed. Even with many caucasians it didnt fit well to their storybook image about relationships.
