Stupid argument. Makers would have released in more screens if they are releasing during a holiday period, thereby more numbers.

One thing is clear, the potential of South biggies is bigger than BW biggies, considering that stars in the South are not desperate about holidays and don't block holiday release dates years in advance.

If at all Sultan was released on a non Holiday we would be adjusting figures and footfalls here.
Even though Kabali released on a non holiday and still earned huge crores nobody is adjusting anything. It is just a south Indian movie and not even Bollywood and still it has earned way too much.

Techically it did open on a nonholiday as eid was the next day..plus eid you never know when it comes its unpredictable..bajrangi..kick etc never came on eid and technically the movies opened on non holidays and one holiday..eid came..and in some cases three days later..so eid helped but movies wom etc..is what made it sustain esp bajrangi ...

...

And regarding south movies they have their own sources they use..boi only looks into hindi version..south tracks its own..so dont even get why south movies compared to north/bolly movies..

Logic: Entertainment tax is low in South
Ignored: Average ticket price in Tamil Nadu will be around rs. 80 or so... whil for movies like sultan, PK etc is around rs. 125.. uska kya? HAHK k liye tho footfall x avg ticket price and what not...

Yup...also places like Mumbai, Delhi have films like PRDP selling Rs.1000 per ticket at plexes. While in places like Hyderabad where the ticket rates are govt controlled a plex ticket sells at Rs. 250 to Rs.300. BOI seems to have been recently purchased by Salman. Too many excuses for Salman films being made.

Kabali becomes the most watched film on Day 1

2 days ago
1 min read

Kabali has become the most watched film on the first day of its release, as trade sources say more than 50 lakh people watched the film on Friday - about 35-40% of those were from Tamilnadu itself, which is unbelievably huge.

The footfalls are higher than the opening day of pan-India films like Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Sultan and Dhoom 3.

It'll be interesting to see what happens when Robot 2.0' releases in theatres next year. Akshay Kumar has a strong following in the core Hindi belt of the country, while Rajnikanth is unmatched in the South. Both appeal to a different section of the audience at the overseas markets. To add to it, films directed by Shankar are hugely commercial and appeal both to the classes and masses.

A casting masterstroke like Robot 2.0' could put up unimaginable numbers next year.

😈

PRDP Actuals

Gross = 267.54 Cr

Footfalls = 2.27 Cr

Avg. Ticket Price = Rs. 117/-

Ye ticket price 150 bhi nahi cross kari, yahaan log 1000 cross kara diye 😆

Same ppl won't have problem throwing PK's figures which indeed had real inflation in ticket price, which BOI says many times in their article... woh IGNORE karke PK use kari jaati hai...

Jahaan Salman film uper hui... Ticket price 1000 ho gayi 🤣
