Never saw the movie but when you spoke of it Erika I searched for clips on YouTube and came across the climax scene and it summed up the movie for me beautifully

Tabu is such a fine actor and in that scene even when she is quiet her presence is felt across

I loved how Namrata and Tabu walk away while the two men are left behind on teh doorstep

For me it symbolised this- those two men were the confines of patriarchal society which suppresses the female desire as well as the female identity. They cast a web of mother/wife/sister/daughter and make them answerable to others and dependant on others

The moment Tabu walks out she breaks away from this web and is starting afresh

I will watch the movie from beginning to end

Thank you for bringing this movie to my notice Erika

It was a path breaking movie and Tabu's performance was brilliant. It did rake up the point that a woman is as human as a man and she desires for companion and has sexual urge. Tabu's relationship with Mohnish charac was based on these two things and not single one.

Tabu's husband whereas is philandering and having sex around. He is a complete tharki ( lacking a proper word😆).
The story compares the two and Tabu is blamed. This is inevitable in a patriarchal society. What I would found more interesting or right was had the director brought the fact about lust of Tabu husband and need for companionship which gave rise to sexual desire. Also I would have loved if Tabu slapped her husband for his multiple sexual escapades.

Absolutely liked Namarata's charac who supports Tabu and she walks off. The son was perhaps a person laden with greed and male chauvinism.

I have never seem the film but after reading some posts I am really intrigued and surprised! Such hard hitting films were made once upon a time. Now we only have a bunch of shit thrown upon us.
I will definitely try to watch it.

This is a bold movie but doesn't mean it's not boring.

Just watched the final scene for the first time... God it's so boring and preachy...

Now I remember why I couldn't watch this movie for more than few mins...
And Tabu is good here but nothing to write home about... She was phenomenal in movies like Chandnibar, Machis and others
