All you need to know about Shahid's role in 'Padmavati'

In a recent interview, Shahid Kapoor spilled the beans about Padmavati. He revealed unknown facts about his next film with Deepika Padukone in the title role. While Ranveer Singh, DP, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali have remained mum on the subject, Shahid is the only one who has given his fans a sneak peek into his next.

Shahid reveals that though Deepika is in title role but Padmavati is not female centric. "Personally, I don't think it's a female-oriented film. The female part is extremely strong, just like in Rangoon, so are the male characters," he informed.

Shahid further divulges that he will be seen taking his shirt off in Padmavati. "I have no-food days now because I need to be in a certain shape for Padmavati. My character has a lot of close ups, body shots," he says.

Furthermore, his role is apparently great in the film. "I have a great part in Padmavati. I'm never insecure, I'm self-assured. It's great to work with talented people and my co-stars are actors who're great at balancing their work

When asked what would he like to say about his director, Shahid says, "Bhansali sir is the best filmmaker in the industry and it's a great slate for me in 2017."

outdoor filming is going to start soon in jaipur, it seems like the whole cast is going to be there

Looks like Jim sarbh is in the movie, Ranveer followed him on instagram, he is being rumored to be playing Malik Kafur, a Eunuch who was a general in Khilji's army

Jim Sarbh can easily play that! Oo so exciting b/ he's an excellent actor!!

I just find De's Ranveer fan-hurling SOO amusing seeing how bitchy she used to be about him. No wonder they say Success changes everything.

Jaipur schedule is starting tommorrow I think, all 3 main actors r going to be part of it as this is where the battle scenes will be shot, slb is already in jaipur preparing

Padmavati: Ranveer, Deepika and shahid to shoot in Jaipur

Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor wrapped up the first schedule of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati at an elaborate set created in Mumbai.

The second schedule of the period drama will commence soon and unlike the first one, Ranveer Singh will be a part of the shoot for this schedule. Reportedly, team Padmavati will soon fly to Jaipur for a prolonged shooting schedule.

Bhansali is known to keep things as real and authentic as possible and the film-maker has plans to shoot for the film at a few unexplored locations in Jaipur. In the film, Deepika Padukone will essay the character of queen Padmavati while Shahid Kapoor will be seen as her husband, Rawal Ratan Singh.

Ranveer Singh on the other hand will be seen as Padmavati's obsessive lover, Alauddin Khijli. The movie is scheduled to release on November 17 this year.

Ranveer talks bout filming in rajasthan for padmavati

The actor expressed, "While shooting for Bajirao Mastani, I got a chance to experience the lively, warm and pleasant hospitality of local people in Rajasthan. It's a clean, organized, beautiful place which holds its culture in high esteem and has got a welcoming vibe. A chance to shoot here for my mentor Sanjay Leela Bhansali again brings back fond memories of the unique Bajirao Mastani shoot. We had such a great time here! In fact, Rajasthan will give me a chance to occasionally take a break from my grey character of Alauddin Khilji, and I plan to make the most of the food and shopping here."
