Just came back from the theatre and boy do I have a lot to say about the movie! Let's divide it into proper parts. *SPOILER ALERT*

Story - It's a typical romantic story that is very predictable, but still so touching. I don't think I have too many romantic stories that I love, but this one has to be one of them. And I think in part it's because of the acting, but in part it's also because of the way the story was told. I loved it.

Songs - The only song that I felt didn't make sense in the movie was 440 Volt. It just appeared out of nowhere and didn't really make sense. And it didn't really move the story forward much.

Acting -
Salman Khan: He's always a pleasure to watch, but I have to say this movie came very close to Tere Naam. The way he portrays a Haryani Jatt who at the age of 30 is still a child and immature was well done. But what was even better done was the way he matured through life from being immature to being someone who just wants a girl to being a mature individual with a goal in life to a broken man to a man with a new goal in life was all very well done.
Anushka Sharma: She's good, actually great. She portrayed the mature individual well, but I also loved how she had a touch of arrogance. And she added the touch of being superior to Sultan well. Her chemistry with Salman was lovely to watch and I especially loved her accent. She did that really well.
Amit Sadh: A pleasure to watch. He's a businessman's son out to prove that he can run a business just as well as his father. And even though he knows that he's failing, I loved how he showed that will of not wanting to give up. And how he develops a brotherly relationship with Sultan.
Anant Vidhaat Sharma: As Sultan's friend, he was great, but as Govind he was even better. Yes he didn't get a lot of screen space, but every moment he got was better than the previous one, especially in the second half. I loved Govind so much!
Randeep Hooda: And finally Randeep Hooda. The man may have only had an extended appearance, but he did full credit to his role. As Sultan's trainer, he pushed Sultan to the 100% and beyond and did it well. And he was so invested in Sultan. That was well done!

Realism factor - I have to say this movie was a lot more real than most movies are. The fighting was realistic, the acting, Sultan and Aafra's journey, everything felt very realistic. So I'm glad for that.

Negatives - There are a few things that I felt were "bloopers" or "negative" about the movie:
(1) Aafra's dream was to win a gold medal at the Olympics. Now the Olympics that Sultan won at was in 2012. That means the next Olympics was in 2016, so why didn't they show Aafra participating in that?
(2) They didn't exactly clarify how the Pro League runs or how many rounds there are. Throughout the games there were 2 rounds, but the climax match seemed to go on non-stop.
(3) Did Aafra play in any wrestling games after the two separated? They didn't show anything on her until they brought Sultan back into the wrestling world.

Overall, the movie was rather enjoyable and I would love to watch it again. My rating: 4/5. (And no this is not because I'm a Salman Khan fan).

Guys its been so fun celebrating this movie and its massive success and more importantly the fact that its one of the best BW films in a long time 👏👏. I know Sameer said just BO/Reviews but I didnt wanna take alot of footage and post this in Chit Chat or make my own thread. I think just sharing here just feels right . Next 2 weeks I will not be around. Mere Bade Bhai ki Shaadi hai. For that I have to go Houston . Sure they have internet there but who knows if I will be able to have time for it 😭😭. I will be busy with Mehndi , phir Shaadi , Phir vallima 😆😆😆. Toh while im gone hopefully Sultan goes and does 3 or 350 or maybe even 400 crore business. Even if it doesnt Salman has given us an Eidi that we will never forget. Well until next time. Peace 😊

Salman Khan's Sultan box office collections on day 7 is Rs 200 crore: Here's how the movie destroyed records

Salman Khan's Sultan has crossed the Rs 200-crore mark in just seven days of its release. Here's every single record that the film has destroyed.

By: Express Web Desk | New Delhi | Updated: July 13, 2016 9:15 am

Sultan Box office, Sultan, Sultan Box office collections, Sultan movie box office collections, Salman Khan, Salman Khan Sultan, Salman Sultan, Sultan Rs 200 crore, Sultan enters Rs. 200 cr, Sultan day 7 box office collections, Sultan box office collections rs 200 crore, Sultan highest grossing movie, Sultal breaks box office records, entertainment

Sultan has crossed the Rs 200-crore mark and the film took a total of seven days at box office to cross this rubicon. The Salman Khan, Anushka Sharma film has been decimating records at BO, both in India and abroad, as it reported biggest weekend earnings ever in Bollywood.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh reported that the film has earned Rs 200 crore by Tuesday afternoon and was still going strong at the domestic box office. Sultan is likely to earn about Rs 235 crore in the first week. The fact that the film's first week comprises nine days " the movie released on Wednesday (July 6) " has also helped the film. (Salman Khan's Sultan first weekend box office collection huge, crosses Rs 180-crore mark)

As you read this, #Sultan crosses 200 cr mark today [Tue; Day 7]... Week 1 [9 days] should close at 235 cr [+/-], making it an ATBB.

Sultan started destroying records right from the day of its release and it has given the film something of a cult BO status. (Sultan Salman Khan destroys box office records internationally)

#Sultan Wed 36.54 cr, Thu 37.32 cr, Fri 31.67 cr, Sat 36.62 cr, Sun 38.21 cr, Mon 15.54 cr. Total: 195.90 cr. India biz. SENSATIONAL!

Highest business on a Wednesday

On Wednesday, the film made Rs 36.54 crore, which was the highest amount ever made by a film on a Wednesday. Salman had booked the Eid weekend for the film's release but the festival was shifted by a day.

Highest advance booking

The fact that Eid was postponed actually worked in Sultan's favour. The film was already booked by audience, expecting it to be a holiday. According to reports, the film made Rs 18 crore from advance bookings alone, surpassing Salman's Kick record.

Highest day 2, day 4, day 5 collections

Sultan earned Rs 37.32 crore on day 2, Rs 37.10 crore on day 4 and Rs 38.21 crore on day 5. Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Krrish and Happy New Year were the three films who lost their record on these days.

Highest opening weekend grosser ever

Salman broke his own record (Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Rs 129.77 crore) with this film. Sultan took four days to breach this record while PRDP took five to make it.This is also Salman, Anushka and Yash Raj Films' biggest opening weekend grosser. It is also the biggest hit of 2016.

The Yash Raj Films production has earned Rs 92 crore ($13.7 million) abroad, according to a communication from YRF. The film has performed fantastically in territories like UAE-GCC, Pakistan, Britain, Australia and New Zealand where it has shattered the highest opening weekend collection record by any Hindi film.
