So when stars like DP and Ash get flak for their dressing sense, it is also their input in selecting the outfit ? That's why they don't fire the stylist coz probably they chose the final ensemble?

It's as much as the star's fault as the stylist. Ash and DP have zero style sense and they totally rely on their stylist. Stylist if not good can botch up the entire appearance but then a star isn't blind too he/she chooses from the stuff stylist put together n is not blind to not see how the final look is before stepping out...either they r eccentric or clueless. No one fires the stylist. They just juggle them according to availability.
