Firstly I know Salman is prone to giving "W*F" statements, so I am not trying to portray him as a marketing genuis.
But one side of me think that all these Arijit controversies, rape analogy and all these negativity about Salman is all work of Sultan's marketing. I have noticed majority Sallu fans think only way to tackle all these controversies is making his movies hit. And Salman's team too know it, so ultimately all these negativity will lead to sympathy from the fans. They tried the Arijit angle, but that was not that successful as Arijit is not exactly an angel, and did not got the people hating him much, as neutrals were mostly like "thik huwa, Arijit hain hi gadha", or "Arijit idiot". So they had to come up with something which will lead to Salman being badly cornered.
Ofcourse Sallu being the idiot did something which is not exactly forgivable.

Wait, you mean a movie where one man beating 100 people and singing a song the very next minute has no script? Whats your definition of script? Inception?

If it is or not. Either way disappointed Salman fan here.
Wish he just shuts up from now on. Let his films do the talk. It sucks coz I as a fan don't wanna defend his wrong deeds but since all Salman fan's are targeted. I hate coming online bearing the abuse I get on twitter.

I am a Salman fan - I get abused by others (all feminist also in simple words fans of other stars or trolls who'd support regressive & sexist jokes of All India Bakchod or Bollywood Gandu)

I am a Salman fan and not defending his mistake - I get attacked by harsh Salman fans. (remember not only Salman has abusive fans, I got same treatment from Shahid - mocking Udta Punjab's controversy, Hrithik - Disliking Mohejo-Daro trailer, Kareena - for saying her role wasn't path-breaking in Ki & Ka, Deepika - mocking her PR, SRK - lets not get started) No fan clubs are saints.

Too much hypocrisy. It definitely sucks seeing so much negativity around your favourite star but again it sucks that he uttered such words at same. Arrr,... just wishing Salman apologises publicly and just move on. I hate seeing twitter feed filled this drama. Also hope Salman thinks before he talks from now on. It's repetitively annoying that Salim Khan has to defend him all the time

IT IS.
Some weeks back, these were the famous rants:
"Salman would be the last person who needs any publicity tactic for his movie"
"The movies sell on his name"
"Salman's name is enough"

Now i feel bad for those fans.
Because his PR team just crossed the barriers, using a sensitive issue as 'rape' to garner attention.
Now the last step would be a 'heartwarming apology' from that douche.
This turned out worse.
Shameful act!

the scandal is little to with the film than his insenstive mindset unlike UP which was out and out and controversy over the which helped the film grab eyeballs which otherwise might have gone under the radar.

Controversy or no Controversy Sultan bound to open Big

Whenever a celeb makes W*F statement, his managers make sure that video and clip is deleted. Ash was asked about working with Salman and her manager got the clip deleted. How come Salman's managers haven't done the damage control? Either managers are stupid or it is a publicity stunt.
Salman fans have united on Twitter , so it has worked for sure.
