If you've admired the clothes Shah Rukh Khan wears in Don then here's some good news. You can actually head out to buy similar fabrics in the city and design your own version of the Don wardrobe. Capitalising on the Don mania, enterprising cloth merchants in the city have placed orders for similar looking fabrics in a mix of pure chiffon and satin from suppliers in Surat, Mumbai and Korea.

The shopkeepers point out that it's not just young men but even women who are readily picking this stuff to make skirts, tops and dresses out of them. The materials have been ordered in the bada panna. "When materials are bought in the big panna, the advantage is they can be utilised to design a dress or even create a sari," says Nalini Raj, who runs a local boutique at road no. 1 in Himayatnagar. She also points out that though loads of materials inspired from the outfits in the movie have flooded the market, there is a great demand for prints in malmals and chiffons.

There are more than eight different prints in a few selected stores, which are similar to what actors like Arjun Rampal (in animal prints) and Kareena Kapoor (in shimmering gold) wore in the film. "The youngsters are quick at picking up trends and aping Bollywood styles. After Don was released they wanted shirts in the floral print fabric that Shah Rukh wore in the song Yeh Mera Dil Pyaar Ka Deewana. We called the stores whom we personally know and asked if getting those prints were possible. To our surprise they said the stocks have already arrived," says Imtiaz of Ultimo Tailors.

"The materials inspired from the movie are selling like hot cakes especially because the festive season has begun and they make the perfect party shirts. But the collection we stock includes French chiffons with satin prints. Each metre is priced at Rs 450," says Shailesh Gupta of Singhania's.

Other shops too have stocked materials in similar prints in raw silks. "We've also started selling clove printed fabrics like Shahrukh Khan wore in the song 'Khaike Paan..'. The fancy prints are doing a good business thanks to Shah Rukh Khan," says Rajinder Jain of M. Sajjanlal Jain Cloth shop, Station road Monda market.
