From his very recent interviews it sounded as if he's keen to move on from his students and launch more starkids. He'll then get busy with the new starkids' careers..that's still 2-3 years away though. 😆
It goes both ways...his students, namely 2, don't bother looking outside for work and KJo only works with them. In the long run, everyone who has made this same mistake has lost out.
I feel like KJo loses some standing in the industry because he cannot get any other stars onboard. 😕
My perhaps far fetched guess is that he's creatively dead and just waiting for the day he gets to launch the new star-kid students he's got his eyes on to stay in the game at this point. A few years ago when he said he launched this set of students to assume a mentorship role because that was what he was craving, it was actually believable. But the way he's been publicly putting dibs on the other kids yet to come...seems he's desperate to latch on to names because of inability to creatively hang with changing times.
Yeah, KJo has definitely lost standing. If the artsy section of the industry didn't already make fun of his brand of cinema enough, the fall out from GTPM and then the Shuddhi fiasco settled it. After that, it only seems like he's been floundering to get his hands on the big guys.
I dunno about the students...Sid will run into a wall sooner or later no matter what. There are capable, even talented people who are struggling with no to very little on their hands. If nothing, by that 2-3 years' time that you mentioned, KJo will have a new blue eyed boy and he can hope for what John Abraham is in doing in the best case scenario. Alia, though...I think she will cut KJo off at a good time and float out...she's a smart cookie.
