It took everyone by surprise when she won the Miss India title. Aishwarya was everyone's favorite. In one of the talk show she said how Aishwaya would be surrounded by other contestants while she would stay alone at one side. Even the question asked in final round showed disparity, Aish was asked about qualities of husband while Sush was asked about textile industry.
Sush came from middle class backgorund, she didn't even have clothes to wear for a month's stay during Miss Universe competition. She borrowed clothes from her friend. Even the dress she wore during final round of Miss India was made by her mother and she used socks as gloves.

My admiration towards her increases when I see how much her adopted daughters love and respect her and how proud she is of them.

Sushmita is a beautiful, intelligent and well-spoken woman. Btw her answer to the below question is incorrect.

Q: What do you know about the textile heritage of your country and how old has it been?
A: I think it all started with Mahatma Gandhi's Khadi. It has gone a long way since then but the basics of Indian textile heritage has been from there.

Our textile heritage is centuries old. It didn't start with Khadi.

I can't believe she won after giving such a terrible answer... So Gandhi was the inventor of Indian textiles? What were Indian people wearing before Gandhi? Imported silk and Imported Khadi?

But if you look at the YouTube clip Sush does look deserving, her demeanor is sweet and answers sound sincere and she stands tall and elegant as a Miss.India should

In the previous round all 5 finalists had to answer the same question, and the question was "If you could change one event in history, what would it be any why?". Aishwarya Rai said she would be born earlier so she could stop the World Wars from occuring, while Sushmita Sen she would avert the assassination of famous Indian Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi.

Sush was no.2 until then this answer put her on top and for the first time in the history of Miss India, a tie had occurred.
Again I don't understand what was so great about her answer

Sush's answer may not be technically correct but there was a sincerity in her tone while answering. I have watched the videos and her face literally glows when talking about the essence of being a woman. She was just 18 at that time. ⭐️
I can never be so confident in my life even if I know the correct answer. LOL 😆

And Lara's score at the Miss Universe pageant was the highest score of all time. I still remember her answer about Bharatnatyam and the one where she had to convince protesters in the favour of beauty pageants. And these are some difficult questions. 😆

Gosh those were the days of articulate confident gorgeous women. 👏😳

Elegant,Graceful and Beautiful Inside Out.
I can hear Sush speak all day long. She is articulate and her words are inspiring.

I remember once watching her interview where she said that she smiles at everyone no matter her mood (referring mostly to her fans who approach her for pics and autographs) because it might be the last time they see her and she wanted them to remember her as this smiling warm person. This would help spread more smile around the world.

The difference between Aishwarya and sushmita is that Sushmita comes across so warm and sincere with everything she says whereas Aishwarya mostly comes across as cold and distant even if she is not trying.
