Have you guys seen Malgudi days here? I recently saw some episodes and was mesmerised with its simplicity and captivating feel. It was so down to earth, pure yet enamouring. Each episode teaches you a lifes lesson and RK Narayan deserves greater recognition for his work. Would have loved to see some director take it up and reboot the series in high def.

OMG I was just re-watching it on YouTube a few days ago!!! I am so damn thankful that so many old shows are on YouTube now.
I grew up watching it! Brings back beautiful memories❤️
Life back then was so simple. It was all about finding joy in those little moments, with friends & family, & life in general. And Malgudi Days brought that simplicity out so beautifully with its powerful writing, direction & good actors. The young boy Swami especially was such a natural.

Everyone needs to watch this masterpiece.

I watched the one where they sell the statue and the other one with bhoot in the container and the cricket one. It's literally like going into another century. Hard to believe it was the 80s. But I just love how nicely it was done. Instead of all these stupid sas bahu serials somebody should redo them.

You know... if I were the producer, I would take a big story at a time that can fit 90-100 mins format and release it at a time. Basically becomes series (Twilight like... 😉 ). One every year or half a year.

Different actors based on the plot. Perhaps different directors too... good sense of competition between teams. Truly a good concept.

I think Dus Kahaniyaa was interesting but only had a couple of shorts that I really liked out of 10 🥱.

There was no commonality and at the end of it ... I was like.. meh.

Shankar Nag was ahead of his competitors, even in that non-techno time... Had been alive now, he would have done wonders 😭
The guy who played Swami did not even know HIndi properly when he was selected for Malgudi Days but then that shows the amount of effort that went it in to make this masterpiece !

I LOVEEE THAT SHOW
I love that episode called 4 rupees and also that episode where a man and his family gets cheated by a young guy and in the end karma bites that guy. It was so well made!

Also there was an episode where a little girl is told to dance in entertainment industry but she doesn't want to, so she hides into a box. It was so sad and just such a unique show!
